| | String Quartet Tribute To Radiohead: Enigmatic CD Vitamin String Quartet Discography of CDs
Vitamin's string quartet tribute to Radiohead should be sold as a package deal with Strung Out on OK Computer, the label's dour chamber music dedication to that sea change LP. The String Quartet Tribute to Radiohead: Enigmatic doesn't feature any material from Computer and only two songs from The Bends. It draws mainly from Kid A and Amnesiac, and nods to the OK Computer era by including the Airbag EP's "Palo Alto." Performed on a fleet of violins, a viola, and a cello, Enigmatic highlights include "My Iron Lung" (complete with psychotic mid-song breakdown), the drifting, anxious "Idioteque," and the churning "National Anthem." Like Strung Out, Enigmatic proves that the unsettling nature of many Radiohead songs comes at least in part from the music itself, since vocals have been removed for these recordings. For Radiohead completists only. ~ Johnny Loftus

$11.45 Systems Theory is a multi-national internet music project creating adventurous music best described using the terms cinematic-progressive, cinematic-ethnic, cinematic-spacerock, cinematic-electronic, cinematic-ambient, cinematic-soundscape, cinematic-fusion. The compositions run the gamut from dark ambient drift to worldprog-fusion to full-throttle aggressive spacerock, many of which are colored by the rich organic sounds of the Mellotron M400 and other old analog keyboards. All tunes are writen by the core trio of Greg Amov, Steven Davies-Morris and Mike Dickson. The project currently has one album available, the December 2004 release "Soundtracks For Imaginary Movies". Guests appearing on the album include Diane Amov (flute), Cyndee Lee Rule (violin), Michael Futreal (dulcimer), Brian Daly (electric guitar), Dun Strummin (electric guitar). The planned follow-up album, "Codetalkers" will be released in the fall of 2005. Two early evaluation (demos) albums from 2000 and 2002 are floating around on the internet. These will be cleaned up and released properly sometime in 2006.Why did we name ourselves "Systems Theory"? We're ...
