Recorded live in 1989 at the former site of the Berlin Wall, Roger Water's introspective masterpiece celebrates the Cold War's very public end with a star-studded cast of musicians and actors. The Scorpions kick things off with a majestic, Queen-like version of "In the Flesh." Waters and Ute Lemper duet on "The Thin Ice," which leads into the menacing "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 1." Other highlights include Sinead O'Connor's stirring rendition of "Mother, "backed by Rick Danko, Levon Helm, and Garth Hudson of the Band; Paul Carrack's faithful version of "Hey You;" and Van Morrison's soulful take on "Comfortably Numb," featuring Waters, Danko, Helm, and Hudson. Though there's no sign of Water's former bandmates in Pink Floyd, the dour ringmaster enhances the entire performance by casting Tim Curry, Albert Finney, Marianne Faithfull, and others in the ending trial sequence, and bringing the entire company together for an encore of "The Tide Is Turning."
Contains THE WALL - LIVE IN BERLIN video as well as a book entitled WHICH ONE'S PINK? AN ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT ALBUMS OF ROGER WATERS & PINK FLOYD by Phil Rose. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the World Memorial Fund For Disaster Relief.

Wall - Live In Berlin CD music
$14.15 When David Bowie recorded what became DAVID LIVE at Philadelphia's Tower Theatre in July 1974, he had fully made the leap from Ziggy Stardust and landed feet-first into the shoes of the Thin White Duke. Despite announcing his retirement from live performance the year before, Bowie seemed no worse for wear fronting a ten-piece directed by future LETHAL WEAPON ...
| | Peter Murphy Should The World Fail To Fall Apart CD (1986)
Wall - Live In Berlin music CDs
$10.59 Following the collapse of Dali's Car, Murphy embarked on a solo career in earnest, fortuitously hooking up with Howard Hughes, who had been working with fellow cult artists the Associates. With 4AD label head Ivo Watts-Russell drafted in to produce and guest musicians popping in as desired, Murphy and Hughes created a slightly fragmentary but still intriguing record. Caught between his recent past (the use of fretless bass on "Canvas Beauty" was a dead giveaway that he missed working with Mick Karn) and his eventual solo successes, Murphy concentrates here mostly on breaking free of the goth stereotype ...

Wall - Live In Berlin CD music
$17.15 The Universe is a side project by Architecture in Helsinki's Gus Franklin, and their debut album, The Outer Void Intrepid Sailor, is a much more focused affair than that eclectic collective's sprawling albums. Seemingly highly influenced by both '70s art rock (think Hunky Dory-era David Bowie and mid-career 10cc) and more recent dream pop fabulists like Mercury Rev and Grandaddy, Franklin has created an honest-to-goodness concept album, telling ...
