Burnt Offerings Movie Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) GOOD BUT DISAPPOINTING THE MOVIE HAS MORE OF A "IN YOUR HEAD" SCARE TO IT THAN AN ACTUAL "HAIR RAISING" SCARE. I WAS DISAPPOINTED AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS ONCE I WATHCED THE MOVIE. GOOD PLOT, BUT WAY TO SLOW AND NOTHING "SCARY" HAPPENS TO KEEP YOU WANTING TO WATCH Submitted by LWELSER (THERESA, NY, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Brings back old memories! I remembered this movie from my teenage age and admit that at first I was a bit worried because one tends to judge old memories through rose-coloured glasses... But this movie didn't disappoint me. Its atmosphere is tense from the start with more and more dramatic events happening (a good mix between psychological mind tricks and real physical threats to the characters), and the ending has its final nasty "sting"! More than once, the storyline may remind of "The Shining", and having been produced in the same timeline might also be the reason for this film being less widely known. But the actors are believable in their characters and make this a thoroughly enjoyable film. Definitely recommended for fans of more psychological terror. One of the best Haunted House horror movies ever! I've seen them all, but this movie is superb and Bette Davis and the entire cast is wonderful, and the house is amazing, really the main character of the movie. I can see this one over and over again, but it is definately not for the faint of heart or those who do not like horror films. It is light on the terrible things to watch and more into the change in the characters and the house over the lapse of the movie . . . this one belongs in every Haunted House Horror movie collection! $12.99 From the director of zombie classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD comes this chilling film about biological warfare. Made in the shadow of both Vietnam and Watergate, THE CRAZIES is a grim allegory about a government conspiracy against the public that ultimately results in genocide.
The story is set in director George Romero's home state of Pennsylvania. In the film, a government plane carrying a dangerous virus crashes near the small town of Evans City. The virus finds its way into the town's drinking water, turning everyone who is exposed to it into a murderous lunatic. Firefighter David (Will McMillan) and his pregnant wife, Judy (Lane Carroll), remain unaffected but face great danger in trying to escape the town, which has been quarantined by the US army, whose members lurk around every corner, clad in gas masks and protective suits. The President is often depicted as a detached talking head, offering no hope to citizens trapped by the mistakes of his administration.

$10.19 The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy. The film opens with the Hippocratic Oath, and it's easy to tell that PATHOLOGY is going to show us doctors behaving badly, and the film is in fact almost gleefully immoral, with an attractive young cast that engages in almost ...
