It's like, sooo Romeo and Juliet, when a gnarly neo-punker from Hollywood totally asks out this babelicious Val. Stars Nicholas Cage, Deborah Foremen. This teen romantic comedy involves a mismatched couple: a Valley Girl, Julie (Deborah Foreman), and punk rocker from Hollywood, Randy (Nicolas Cage). The pair find love in their Romeo-and-Juliet-like romance, until peer pressure gets to Julie and she cuts their relationship off; Randy just does not fit in with her Valley crowd. Julie reluctantly gets back together with her Valley boyfriend, Tommy (Michael Bowen), and goes to the prom with him, but the love struck Randy refuses to give up on Julie in this funny, winning film.
It's a "totally tubular" scene as a "grody-to-the-max" punk from the wrong side of the Hollywood Hills, Randy (Nicolas Cage), falls for Julie (Deborah Foreman), a mall-dwelling Valley Girl, in this time capsule of 1980s teen vernacular. Julie and Randy become passionately involved; yet, despite her feelings for Randy, Julie succumbs to the peer pressure of her mall-obsessed friends, and gets back together with her Valley dude boyfriend, Tommy (Michael Bowen), who whisks Julie off to the Senior prom. Randy doesn't give up so easily, however, and chases Julie to the prom, with the help of his faithful friend, Fred (Cameron Dye), in an attempt to wrest her back. The sound track features the music of Men at Work, the Clash, and Josie Cotton in this 1980s teen comedy--an era, and topic, that director Coolidge was fond of chronicling, like her contemporary, John Hughes. Valley Girl Reviews: "...VALLEY GIRL is very good simply because director Martha Coolidge obviously cares about her two lead characters and is privileged to have a couple of fine performers..."

Valley Girl Movie Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) Bitchin! A very underated movie for its time, love the music the clothes the hair and the attitude, it was oh so simple then! Submitted by sstenille (Paraburdoo Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
The movie deserves 5 stars, but the DVD deserves one star!. Well this is the second DVD a movie studio has wrecked. The sound was remastered in Dolby 5.1, and whoever did it, put it way too LOW! They ruined the movie, thats the best part of this movie, all the 80s hits! If u watch it in English Mono, its normal, THANK GOODNESS for MONO being normal! However, its a shame that MGM would release it, without checking it for flaws. Therefore, it gets 1 star. Submitted by a reviewer (Woodland Hills, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? $9.69 When free-spirited but juvenile Walter "Gib" Gibson (John Cusack) meets studious, uptight Alison Bradbury (Daphne Zuniga) at an unnamed Ivy League college, sparks fly; unfortunately, they are mostly of the disastrous variety as all of Gib's attempts at courtship fall painfully apart. Inevitably, the duo is tossed together when they both answer the same ad for a ride to California. While Alison is traveling to reunite with her tidy law school boyfriend, Gib is on the road to meet a beautiful girl his best friend promises him is "a sure thing." Before too long, Gib and Alison's bickering inflames the driver, who promptly deposits the two with their suitcases on the side of a lonely highway thousands of miles from their destination. As the misadventures pile up, the initially contentious pair begin to take a liking to one another--but do these two dare fall in love?
Rob Reiner's initial attempt at romantic comedy pays subtle homage, with gentle lyricism, to ...

$8.85 In Guillermo del Toro's BLADE II, Wesley Snipes reprises his role as the part-human, part-vampire superhero based on the comic book character. Following a trail of blood that leads to Prague, Blade (aka the Daywalker) slays a legion of bloodsuckers in the search for his abducted mentor, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). Soon Blade reluctantly joins forces with a band of skilled vampiric warriors called the Bloodpack to hunt down an even deadlier enemy--the monstrous Reapers, who prey on vampires and humans alike, infecting them with an incurable virus. In addition to battling these relentless new foes, Blade must deal with situations brought about by the Bloodpack's tenuous alliance --in particular, his attraction to the lovely Nyssa (Leonor Varela) and his rivalry with the brutish Reinhardt (Ron ...

$18.15 URBAN LEGEND: On an ordinary college campus, students are being killed off one by one in ways resembling various urban legends, 25 years after a covered-up dorm massacre. One lone student must seek out the truth--while keeping herself from becoming just another legendary victim at the same time. The fine cast includes Tara Reid, Jared Leto, Rebecca Gayheart, Joshua Jackson, and horror legend Robert Englund as the professor teaching his students about urban legends.
URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT:At the prestigious Orson Welles Film School at Alpine University, students are preparing their submissions for the Hitchcock Award, an honor that virtually guarantees the winner a Hollywood career. Amy Mayfield (Jennifer Morrison), daughter of a famous documentary director, decides to make a different kind of film: a thriller in which college students are killed in ways resembling various urban legends. Despite the backstabbing and jealousy of her fellow students, Amy begins to plan and cast her movie, with help from a pair of special effects geeks and a suave European cinematographer. As filming progresses, however, a series of unusual deaths occurs that the police dismiss as accidents. Is the killer a psychotic madman or a student hoping to eliminate the competition? Amy must struggle to learn the truth or else risk becoming another "accident" herself. This sequel to the 1998 horror hit URBAN LEGEND features a different cast (except for the return of security guard Reese), and was directed by John Ottman, the composer and editor of such films as THE USUAL SUSPECTS.
URBAN LEGENDS: BLOODY MARY:X2 writers Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris apply their talents to the teen slasher genre, delivering a horrific update to the well-known legend of Bloody Mary. It's 1969 and Mary Banner is a bookish, unpopular girl who has unexpectedly been invited to the dance by a star athlete. His intentions are less than admirable, however, and after trying to escape from him Mary suffers a long and painful death. Years later in 2005, Sam (Kate Mara, TV's JACK & BOBBIE) and her girlfriends ...

$8.85 Genius of mystery and intrigue Christopher Nolan (MEMENTO, FOLLOWING, INSOMNIA) helms this prequel to the Batman films based on the DC Comics series, explaining how Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale)--the billionaire prince of Gotham whose parents were killed in an alleyway mugging--transformed into the crime-fighting superhero. With flashbacks to his privileged childhood, young Master Wayne, as he is called by the butler Alfred (Michael Caine), develops a terrible fear of bats when he falls through the backyard garden into a hidden cave. As a young adult, Wayne lives among the League of Shadows, a martial arts group in the mountains of Asia. His leaders Ra's al Ghul (Ken Watanabe) and Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson) teach him strength, endurance, and--unfortunately--evil, against which he naturally rebels. Returning to Gotham and reinstating himself as a dapper socialite and the rightful heir to his parents' enterprise, Wayne quickly devises his secret identity, commanding help from the gadgetry expert Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman). With one eye on his childhood playmate Rachel (Katie Holmes)--now a beautiful woman and dedicated lawyer--and the other on his mission to save Gotham from criminal corruption, Batman makes his fledgling debut. But when the blue-blooded mastermind Dr. Crane (Cillian Murphy)--who steals every scene with chilling menace--taints the water system with a hallucinatory substance, Batman realizes he has met his first true opponent. An attitude of grave seriousness elevates BATMAN BEGINS above more cartoony Batman movies, as Nolan crafts a dark drama that thrives on sci-fi intrigue. Bale strides into the role with grace, adding refinement that is seldom seen in action-oriented films. And while the action scenes explode with high-tech glitz and fast-moving thrills, they are evenly placed among sequences of plot and character development, ...
