Ultimate Country Hits Vol. 1
$17.75 Buzzy Tonic is the new record album by the group The Brothers Zing, which consists of John and Martin Szinger. The brothers are happy to announce that the record is completed, and sounds great. It is a set of original songs, written and recorded mainly in 2005. The vibe is rock with a heavy jazz influence, and elements of soul, funk and prog. Guitars, saxophones, and keyboards anchor the sonic palette. Gripping musical arrangements venture fearlessly into sophisticated chords and out time signatures to support strong melodies and heartfelt, passionate songs about love, life and the universe. The brothers regard this project as a milestone, a fruitful collaboration that enabled them to put a bunch of ideas and skills together. Martin has ...
| | Petula Clark Supersounds From The Superstar! CD (2007)
Ultimate Country Hits Vol. 1
$9.69 The slightly clunky title attached to this compilation obscures the fact it's actually a reissue of Petula Clark's Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, Warner Bros.' 1968 "Best Of" package released when she was one of the label's biggest acts, though for this edition Wounded Bird has not only changed the name but tacked on three additional tracks. In its original form, this collection put the focus squarely on the tunes Tony Hatch wrote and produced for Clark (the only song not penned by Hatch is Clark's own "Two Rivers"), and while this covers a rather brief period in a long and remarkably successful career, there's no arguing that Clark and Hatch brought out the best in one another. Hatch built crisp but bombastic arrangements for Clark that sounded like "little symphonies" in the manner of Phil Spector, but without Spector's pronounced degree of eccentricity and with a dramatic sweep that suggested the influence of the musical theater; Clark's voice was strong enough to stand tall alongside Hatch's studio orchestra, but light enough to maintain a breezy, feminine quality that added greatly to her charm. These sides are marvelous pop confections that certainly aren't rock, but show the canny influence of the hipper sounds of their day, and Clark and Hatch were both talented and professional enough to merge art and commerce with remarkable skill and savvy. This reissue adds three more songs from this era of Clark's career -- "Don't Sleep in the Subway," "Kiss Me Goodbye" and "This Is My Song" -- and they kick up the value of this set a notch or two. What's more, the mastering makes this CD particularly attractive -- for the first few years of the compact disc era, it was a real challenge finding a ...

Ultimate Country Hits Vol. 1
$16.69 Our first Blues2 CD is here at last, 2008. As with most music groups we are asked, “Do you have a CD?” Well, “Yes we do now!” Let me briefly share our story. We have been together for just over 3 years. Blues2 is not only “Blues” in the traditional usage. We also perform Rock’n Roll, Originals and Country. We are a bit “eclectic” in this way having fun performing 50’s, 60’s & 70’s of various musical styles. Our audiences have told us on many occasions how they love our performance and music! Let me introduce our group. Ron Weber started playing Bass and singing, around 1957, performing in several parts of the country, growing up on a farm in Casper Wyoming - he really creates a great LOW end sound for us! Steve ...
