| multichannel only?
I assume you know this fine band and this wonderful album. I'll comment on the sound, which is beautiful. However, this is the only hybrid sacd I've ever had problems with: my new sacd player could not find the stereo sacd layer, and started to play 2 of the multichannels, leaving out a lot of the details. Playing this in ordinary stereo sounded almost as good as an sacd, so I'm not complaining. DP fans, get this before it's gone.

| The way it should be heard
I recently picked up this title and am glad I did. I've owned the DVD-A of this release for a few years, and I was always disappointed by the lack of bass in the 5.1 mix. This SACD corrects all that. It contains the original quad mix of Machine Head, and it sounds incredible.

| Classic Energy!
What can be said but a classic! One of the first (vinal) albums I wore out and had to replace! There is no greater energy than Highway Star!

| Deep Purple’s best studio album.
“Highway Star” has the best beginning of all songs I’ve ever heard and it has a magnificent guitar and keyboard solos. “Lazy” is a perfect instrumental mix of classical, jazz and blues music. Personally, “Pictures Of Home” is one of my favourites and “Smoke On The Water”…no comment! In my opinion “Machine Head” is one of the best hard rock albums from the 70’s.

| A Must Buy!
In my opinion, this is by far the very best Deep Purple album ever. There is not much else I can say except, buy buy buy it!
