Launched in a time when the music industry superpowers appeared focused on force-feeding the public "manufactured" boy bands, "sexually enhanced" teenyboppers and the self-destructive screams of metallic rappers.It was because of this overwhelming evidence of a global conspiracy to deceive the ears and control the minds of music fans that a new genre of music was formed, called "conspiracy rock". Project 814 Declassified is another salvo fired in an effort to further unveil the fact that there is truth and talent found in independent music.Songwriter/Bassist/Producer Jon Pomplin has created a journey that explores ideas about teen suicide, alcoholism, spirituality and the eternal search for love. Marijah's music is timeless, and always delivers a message, has a funky beat, as well as a beautiful melody!Initially self-taught on traditional percussion, she went on to study West African, Afro-Cuban and Jamaican rhythms and is known by drummers from Jamaica to Hawaii as the "High Priestess of Percussion". She studied under the late drum master, Babatunde Olatunji of Nigeria, West Africa, and plays on his albums, "Dance to the Beat of My drum, and "Drums and Incantations". Marijah has also studied and performed with: Nyabinghi Master Ras Michael of Jamaica and Carlos Santana. Marijah plays: Congas, Djembe Shekere, Repeater, Trap Drums, Kalaimba, and various other international and native percussion instruments. Currently, Marijah performs with the all female African drum and dance ensemble ~~Venus Rising." Marijah has toured extensively, sharing her music in different parts of the world. Bruce Kurnow, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and now a resident of the San Francisco Bay area, is enjoying a long career in the music business. At age three he began piano lessons and was immediately hooked. As a teenager he discovered a special connection with the harmonica and has remained dedicated to exploring the possibilities of the instrument. He went on to become a music major at the University of Minnesota, primarily a classical school. He studied piano, stringed harp, voice, theory and composition, which have proven to be a solid foundation for his subsequent work, including twenty recordings of original compositions and eight others of non-original music. Bruce has been recognized with four Minnesota Music Awards for his harmonica, stringed harp and keyboard work. Since 1971 he has been an active studio musician, playing on hundreds of commercials, albums and film scores. As a performer, Bruce played piano with harmonica master Mojo Buford, who named him "Creeper." In 1971 he went to Los Angeles on vacation and was surprised by the sudden opportunity to tour the United States and Canada with popular country-rock group Mason Proffit, playing 300 cities per year and recording with the group from 1971-1974 (the group reunited in 2003).
