With quite a few of the '80s-era glam-metal acts trying to come back with completely different approaches and styles come the 21st century, Chicago power pop vets Enuff Z'nuff continue to specialize in what they do best. And as evidenced by such latter-day releases as 2002's Welcome to Blue Island, they can still whip up a Beatlesque melody with no problem. The group continues to be led by the underrated songwriting duo of Donnie Vie and Chip Znuff, whose pop sensibilities are still keen on such standout tracks as "Good Times (Are Hard to Find)" and the upbeat ditty "Zentemental Journey" (which is preceded by a sitar-heavy Middle Eastern piece, "Z Overture," which is equal parts "Kashmir" and "Within You Without You"). For the hardcore fan, try to find the import version of Welcome to Blue Island, which includes four bonus tracks -- one being a surprise cover of Nirvana's "All Apologies" (after all, this was the same band that was almost single-handedly responsible for preventing the glam-metal scene from infesting any further). ~ Greg Prato
Perris topseller of 2004, with 4 bonus tracks, 2002 album from legendary US power pop/melodic hard rockers featuring 15 tracks including 4 bonus tracks
Recorded at Star Trax, Crestwood, Illinois and Chicago Recording Company, Chicago, Illinois.
Enuff Z'Nuff: Donnie Vie (vocals, electric & slide guitar, piano); Chip Znuff (vocals, guitar, bass); Monaco (guitar); Ricky Parent (drums).
Welcome To Blue Island Music Enuff Z'Nuff Welcome To Blue Island Songs Welcome To Blue Island Music Welcome To Blue Island Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Best band in the world This album is among of the best Enuff Z´Nuff have already released! Very cool melodic and catchy songs. Songs like Saturday, Good times (are hard to find),Roll Me and Roller Bladin´ in the shade are one of my favorite tunes. Actually you won´t stop listenning untill the cd ends. I wonder if someday they will play a concert here in Brasil. I think someday I will get a plane to go to the U.S.A. only to go to one of their concerts!!! Submitted by gadamaceno (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil) Was This Review Helpful? EZ KA'S Once again Enuff Znuff flys into ears with their incredible songwriting skills and musicianship. As I have seen in many reviews they are one of the most underated and unappreciated rock bands ever. I definitely recommend this CD for the true rockers and eagles that haven't forgotten how to soar. Peace to Donnie, Chip and the gang. You are loved. Submitted by chris.greene (Springfield, MO, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Classic 'Znuff I am a huge fan of Enuff Znuff, and have been for awhile now. I am from the southside of Chicago like them, so I get to see them live a lot. This album seems to bring the basnd's writing style back to their original roots. This album has it all, crunchy rock tunes, ballads, Donnie singing as a kid. It is all here. I strongly recommend it! Still on form after all these years While not reaching the heights of pop rock masterpieces like Strength, Tweaked or Paraphernalia, Welcome to Blue Island contains enuff great tunes to keep old fans happy and maybe (finally) pull in some new ones. Saturday is a straight ahead good time rock song, a fist punching anthem. Sanibel Island is one of those songs that only EZN are capable of. You hear it once and it is in your head, great hook line big sound.Overall a good album. It will probably be the last featuring Donnie Vie which is a crying shame as he posseses one of the rock voices, lets hope he conquers his demons and the band make up before the next release. | | Danny Kirwan Second Chapter CD (1975) With Book; Limited Edition; Digipak
Welcome To Blue Island CD music
$16.59 The first solo album from Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter Daniel David Kirwan has the future producer for Human League and Buzzcocks, Martin Rushent, utilizing those skills here, as well as engineering. The sound is crystal clear, and a feather in the cap for Rushent as well as Kirwan. It starts off with an uncharacteristic "Ram Jam City," which has more Lindsey Buckingham sounds than one would expect, especially since the two guitarists come from two different musical worlds. "Odds and Ends" is more lighthearted, the kind of music Paul McCartney toyed with on The White Album's "Rocky Raccoon." What Second Chapter immediately ...

| | Kdawg Words Of Wisdom CD (2008)
Welcome To Blue Island CD music
$7.49 Kenny (Kdawg) Giacomini has always been the kind of guy that does not at all apply to the "what you see is what you get" idea. When a freshmen in high school, he started isolating himself in his room and writing his thoughts when he had nothing else to do. Having nothing and nobody to share his thoughts with, paper was what ended up being his best conversation partner. Kids at his school, a lot of them were his so called friends, laughed and joked about how he was a rapper and thought it was an embarrassment and a shame that he was rapping and writing his own lyrics.Kenny spent the first half of his high school life mainly on music and sports. He played baseball and football but the three things that were there year round every night were his mind, his pencil, and his notebook. So he got much better at what he did/does. After a few years of being the odd guy out, people started to notice Kenny's music in a good way instead of the joke that it seemed to be only a few years earlier. From the beginning, he has not held anything ...
