Vault II
$9.69 Too many rockers have made the mistake of never providing an official live album, but thankfully, Y&T isn't one of them. Recorded at the San Jose Cabaret in San Jose, CA on December 28 and 31, 1990, this CD paints a most impressive picture of the Deep Purple-influenced heavy metal/hard-rock band. Heavy metal enthusiasts who never saw Y&T live will wish they had after hearing this excellent album, which brilliantly captures the Bay Area headbangers' vitality. Turning its attention to material from the 1970s and 1980s, Y&T is in fine form on gems that range from "Black Tiger," "Beautiful Dreamer," and "Winds of Change" to "Hurricane," "Midnight in Tokyo," and "I'll Cry." Yesterday & Today Live is as melodic as it is forceful. In fact, headbangers ...
| | Judas Priest Priest... Live! CDs (1978) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Vault II
$15.95 Principally recorded at Chipping Norton Studios, Cotswold, England in 1978. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Culled from performances on their mammoth 1986 TURBO tour, Judas Priest's second live album, PRIEST...LIVE! was issued one year later. Including some post-BRITISH STEEL songs, PRIEST...LIVE! doesn't quite measure up to their outstanding earlier live album, 1979's UNLEASHED IN THE EAST, but it has its moments.
Unsurprisingly, plenty of selections from the TURBO album are featured, such as "Out in the Cold," "Turbo Lover," and "Parental Guidance," but "Hot Rockin'," "Don't Go," and several '80s Priest classics are noticeably absent. Still, you can't go wrong with inspired ...
| | Pretty Boy Floyd Size Really Does Matter CD (2004)
Vault II
$12.39 "Suicide" on Pretty Boy Floyd's Size Really Does Matter CD harkens back to the days of hard rock that could break through on pop radio. It's got the Guns N' Roses-meets-Alice Cooper snarl and enough dynamics to make it jump off of the disc as the standout. That's perhaps the most in-the-pocket tune on the album, though "Earth Girls" comes close with its science fiction overtones and cool hook. The ten songs are written by Steve Summers, Lesli Sanders, T'Chad, and Dish, the four members of Pretty Boy Floyd, and they have lots to offer on Size Really Does Matter. "Fuck the Rock" turns the group Reunion's 1974 hit "Life Is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)" on its head -- "sell your soul to rock & roll radio." As frustrating for the fans as it is for Pretty Boy Floyd (a name made famous on the radio ...
| | L A Guns Hollywood Raw: The Original Sessions CDs (2004)
Vault II
$12.69 Includes tracks recorded prior to L.A. Guns's 1988 debut album.
Before there was L.A. Guns there was Guns N' Roses. Or if you are more inclined to believe the liner notes, it's the other way around. No matter how the fable gets framed, somewhere in time ...
| | Riot Narita CD (1979) Import
Vault II
$18.59 New York's Riot is unfortunate representative of a "lost generation" of American hard rock bands. Formed in the late '70s, when widespread record industry recession conspired with disco's airwave domination and headline-grabbing (but little-album-selling) ...

Vault II
$14.55 This Limited edition includes a bonus CD containing a sampler of nine Inside Out bands.
Could Spock's Beard survive the departure of its now born-again Christian lead singer and main songwriter? Well, they did manage to put together a new album in decent time, but it is not an impressive opus, to say the least. Then again, the group's music was on a path leading it away from its progressive rock beginnings and toward a tighter, harder-edged, ...
