MacMurray couldn't be better in patented Disney fare. Sequel is Son of Flubber. Academy Award Nominations: 3, including Best (Black-and-White) Cinematography (though the film later was colorized). Followed by a sequel, 1963's "Son of Flubber."
The Walt Disney laserdisc #028AS is letterboxed to produce a cropped 1.85:1 aspect ratio, falling short of the original aspect ratio of 2.35:1.
Kurt Russell made his first film appearance with a bit part in "The Absent-Minded Professor."

THE LOVEABLE MacMURRAY, PLAYS A FORGETABLE COLLEGE PROFESSOR, WHO AMOUNG OTHER THINGS FORGETS HIS OWN WEDDING. WHILE SEEKING A WAY TO SAVE HIS FLOUNDERING COLLEGE FROM A GREEDY DEVELOPER. BUT IN DOING SO HE DISCOVERS AN ORGANIC LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT WOULD EVENTUALLY NOT ONLY CHANGE HIS LIFE BUT THAT OF HIS COLLEGE, ITS SPORTS TEAMS AND HIS TOWN!! NOT TO MENTION THE uNITED STATES GOVERNMENT. THE MOVIE IS FUN IN GLORIOUS BLACK AND WHITE. THE SPECIAL EFFECTS ARE NEAR STUNNING FOR ITS TIME. ALL IN ALL ITS A MOVIE FOR ALL AGES. OH, AND BY THE WAY. Great movie
This is a great movie; entertaining and very family friendly. My family has had this movie on VHS for many years, the DVD provides a big improvement in picture and sound quality, plus it allows for scene searches and other nice features. I highly recommend this movie.
The CD Universe price was very reasonable, and their delivery was excellent. On line ordering was easy and secure. As I replace my VHS tapes with DVD, I will be coming back to CD Universe.
