Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC album for sale Product Description
Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC album for sale by Various Artists / Vitamin String Quartet was released Jul 22, 2003 on the Vitamin label. This string tribute to AC/DC eschews the quartet arrangement favored by Vitamin for these projects, and instead features a fleet of violins, viola, and cellos augmented by bass and drums. All the hits are here -- most notably, "Back in Black," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and "Hells Bells" -- and these favorites are augmented by classic AC/DC fare such as the anthem "Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" and "Have a Drink on Me." But while it does a nice job with its set list, the String Quartet Tribute to AC/DC doesn't really have much to say. Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC CD music contains a single disc with 10 songs. ...See Full Description

Excellent CD This CD is very well done. The music is awesome. Is is unbelievable that such hard rock music can be recreated in a way that everyone, even those who don't rock, can enjoy and appreciate the sounds. By dsmiddy (Redding, California, USA)
Wow That looks amazing. Can't wait to get it. I hate these 21-day waits we get in NZ... does it have vocals? if so, who?. By lightofday.dayofdarkness (Wellington, NZ)
Beautiful As the biggest AC/DC fan in Australia I would like to say that this is the next best thing to th real Band, its utterly awsome way to listen to Back In Black I just wish there was some string versions of Bon Scotts greatest hits. By Jonesy (Down Under)
I want it I think it is quite a creative twist on good rock'n'roll. This music would be okay to listen to with my grandparents, yet only I would know what I was really listening to. By Phoebe (Sisters, Or,USA)

Elton John Greatest Hits 1970-2002 CDs (2002) Top Seller
Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC buy CD music Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc.
Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini.
Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares

Fleetwood Mac Dance CD (1997) Top Seller
Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC songs THE DANCE was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. "Silver Springs" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "The Chain" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
Inasmuch as Fleetwood Mac's classic 1970s albums drew much of their charm from their quirky arrangements and fastidious studio craft, it's a bit odd that the band would choose to reunite with a live, largely unplugged album. But somehow, the first album by the Fleetwood-McVie-McVie-Buckingham-Nicks lineup since 1987's TANGO IN THE NIGHT manages to recapture a good deal of the old feel, which had a lot to do with three very different singer-songwriters agreeing to live together under the umbrella of a single flexible rhythm section.
After dispensing with the group effort "The Chain," which leads off this set, the reconstituted Mac spends the rest of the album showing off its separate parts for the distinct elements they are, while mixing a few new songs into a collection of classics. Lindsey Buckingham rips through the late-period hit "Big Love" unaccompanied, compensating for his shrinking vocal range with some blistering guitar picking. Stevie Nicks stretches out "Rhiannon" like one of her flowing dresses, with a piano-ballad opening. Christine McVie, whose alluring, matronly rock voice remains undiminished, offers the lovely new "Temporary One," which, one hopes, doesn't describe this reunion.
Additional personnel includes: Brett Tuggle (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Neale Heywood (guitar, background vocals); Lenny Castro (percussion); Sharon Celani, Mindy Stein (background vocals); USC Trojan Marching Band.
Recorded live in Hollywood, California.

Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC album for sale This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser.
All tracks were recorded during AC/DC's 1990-1991 world tour. Originally released as Atco (92212). The 2003 edition of AC/DC LIVE includes liner notes by Don Kaye.
AC/DC reclaimed its status as gutbucket rock n' rollers to be reckoned with on this searing double-disc live set. The year was 1992, more than 15 years after the group's first recording. By this point, the band was approaching middle age, a time when most rockers settle into the lazy comfort of their genres. From the opening guitar shards of "Thunderstruck," it is clear no such concessions have been made. The bass drum falls in, not so much a timekeeper as an underground detonation device, and the repeated cries of "thunder!" gain volume like an approaching army. The difference being that this is an army with one mission and one mission only: to knock the lights out of anyone within earshot.
The album succeeds not only because the exuberant pounding the band gives to the familiar "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," "Shoot to Thrill" and "Who Made Who," but also because of the equal pulverizing of older Bon Scott era numbers such as "Sin City" and "High Voltage." Vocalist Brian Johnson, in particular, injects some his best screeches in years.
Double CD collector's edition of AC/DC's 1992 live album digitally remastered and reissued in a special digipak plus a 16 page full color booklet containing all original album art, many unpublished photos, classic memorabilia and new 2003 liner notes. 23 tracks. Epic.

String Quartet Tribute to Led Zeppelin, Vols. 1 & 2 CDs (2002)
Back in Baroque: The String Tribute to AC/DC CD music This 2002 release from Vitamin unites two previous Led Zeppelin tribute albums that exist separately in the label's catalog. This is its biggest selling point, as the two volumes do not repeat each other and, when taken in together, they provide a sweeping instrumental history of one of rock's greatest bands. Most of Zeppelin's music is well-suited to a chamber music retelling, to which sparkling versions of "The Ocean," "Carouselambra," and "Tangerine" can attest. "Black Dog" and "Immigrant Song" don't fare as well, as their meat-and-potatoes riffs border on schlock when translated to a chamber music format. And though the arrangement of "Stairway to Heaven" is blissful and full of plaintive violin, the song's clichéd status renders it into bland easy listening territory. But the pluses of this full-size string-quartet tribute to Led Zeppelin far outweigh the minuses, making it a release worth hearing for any Zep aficionado. ~ Johnny Loftus
