While serving time, they slowly form friendships that could last a lifetime...or might not last until Monday morning. When five high school students from different social groups are forced to spend a Saturday together in detention, they find themselves interacting with and understanding each other for the first time. A jock (Emilio Estevez), a criminal (Judd Nelson), a princess (Molly Ringwald), a basket case (Ally Sheedy), and a brain (Anthony Michael Hall) talk about everything from parental tension to sex to peer pressure to hurtful stereotypes while serving time. Ultimately, the five find that they may have more in common than they ever imagined and learn more about themselves as well as each other. The only question is, Will they remember what they've learned after they leave detention? Director and writer John Hughes, along with the stellar Brat Pack, cast makes this a memorable, moving film filled with believable dialogue, intelligent humor, and a sufficient dose of high school hijinx. Its timeless appeal makes this film a teen classic along with Hughes's other teen films from the 1980s: SIXTEEN CANDLES and FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF. A great soundtrack features the hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds. Theatrical release: February 15, 1985.

 Where is my DVD?
I have ordered the DVD "The breakfast club" one month ago and I haven't get it yet!! I'm really angry about that, because it should have been a christmas present for my boyfriend! The other point is, that I have to pay about 11 $ for the priority sending which says that I actually get it in 4 days after ordering!
I also already have paid it!!
Please send me an answer what happens with my DVD!

Best of the 80's!
Love this classic 80's flick! I remember writing a paper about this movie for one of my psychology classes. All the different personalities cling together in this movie. It is amazing what one can learn from someone if you just take the time. Full of laughs & good entertainment.

One of the best movies of the 80's, I think only The Lost Boys and Ferris Buelers Day Off is better.
If you like this movie DO CHECK OUT: Light It Up, It's very similar to this movie only it's a hostage thriller movie in a school.
Judd Nelson is also in that one but not as the student but as the teacher.
You should really check that one out it's As Good as Breakfast Club with similar theme about a group of very different character coming together.

This is a must see movie, but you have to watch it a few times to understand and get into it!! Its getting to be a old movie now but its a classic!!!
