| King Harbor Music Review Average Rating: (3.4 out of 5 stars) Suburban Noize fans pass this one (It Flunks) I haven't bought a cd in a while. I finally decided to choose this cd over the new Static X or Mudvayne. Oh boy! BIG MISTAKE! I buy mostly anything Kottonmouth Kings make. This lacks the usual powerful beats. It's slow! It's also loaded with annoying repetetive DJ mixing with is also extremely slow. It's PITIFUL! KMK is trying something new with this project and it's obvious they are trying to sign to many bands and add a quick buck. My advice for them is to take a break and release something good. My advice to you is to buy something you know you like, because this cd sucks! Trust me!
It's a huge let down Submitted by graham_ganson (Austin TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This will blow your mind If you knock this... blow ur sister. Second off this album is awesome. The beats come together with better swiftness than the swiftness of the sheets when me and your mom make sweet tender love. BUY THIS ALBUM Submitted by Ryan (EVERYWHERE) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

THIS ALBUM ROCKS If you like D-loc AKA SHAKY BONEZ and Dj Bobby B, you will like this album. It has some people that the DJ's know like T.J. Lavin that is a motor Cross rider, Big B is a new rapper for the Suburban Noize Records, and two people from the phunk junkees, and chucky styles. If you buy this album, you will like the dj's battleing. Submitted by a reviewer (Washington Crossing,PA,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Pete Tong Essential Selection: Trust The DJ CD (2003)
King Harbor
$9.79 This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by Pete Tong.
This album from Pete Tong is available on the Trust The DJ label.
While Pete Tong's unshakeable position in the U.K. and Euro-dance firmament holds fast, his association with Trust The DJ was a clear move to broaden his global listenership via the label's well-trafficked website. Surveying a blend of little-known and newborn labels, Tong's first Trust the DJ mix is a composite of the funkier, techno side of house. Leading off with the insistent bassline of Aural Distortion's "Fragmented 100%" (released on the posh Spanish Luxury Grooves imprint), Tong instantly reaffirms his love for the extended groove. But his affinity for more pop-oriented material is made evident by the selection of tracks: Playgroup's "Make It Happen," as re-worked by Ewan Pearson, and M Factor's "Come Together." Other than the slightly worldbeat-influenced "Hear What Was Said," by Mooncat, there are few stylistic surprises here. And Tong's desire to stay as close to the forefront of the pack (as well as the standard problems with licensing the many white label tracks he regularly plays on the air), probably preclude the inclusion of any the obvious dancefloor anthems. Well-rounded and tasteful, Tong's efforts once again display how he manages to remain a forward-thinking and populist tastemaker. ~ Joe Silva
The ever-steady Pete Tong kept his Essential Selection train on track in 2003 with a stateside edition for Moonshine that was inspired by his summer in Ibiza. While it's tempting to automatically lump this edition in with the innumerable other Essential Selection mixes Tong recorded over the years (usually in conjunction with ffrr in the U.K.), that'd be a mistake because there's nothing generic about this particular edition in terms of music. Sure, back in the '90s Tong was a so-so DJ with all the right connections, but circa 2003 he'd become a force to be reckoned with and truly deserved his lofty billings -- he'd improved ...

King Harbor
$15.89 Gnarls Barkley--a collaboration between hip-hop/soul crooner and Goodie Mob founder Cee-Lo and DJ/mash-up kingpin Danger Mouse--sounds like it came from another planet; or what inhabitants of another planet might make of the elemental sounds of 21st-century pop music. Classically soulful R&B vocals, smart hip-hop/electronica beats and samples, and infectious hit-making melodies all serve to make the basic musical template familiar enough, but even a passing listen to the first single, "Crazy" (an Al Green-meets-Outkast groover that was a pre-release smash in the U.K. via downloads alone), illustrates that these fellas are definitely traveling some alternate spaceways.
But if the warped summer jam "Who Cares" or the unsettling big-beat-cum-folkly ...
