Sorry to comment on something other than the music. Though I find only a couple of duds in this release. She is truely a vocal talent and deserves another star (as well as a better label). Notes drops like rose petals from her lips and even a good bottle of Merlot didn't stop me from noticing the acurate phrasing of instruments in the background. Brazilian music is my Life! Many of todays stars could take a lesson from the is hip-swaying music. If you like anythiing about this music, try a "titan" of Portuguese music named Dulce Pontes.

This is an excellent album. Pamela sings so beautiful and the musicians are great. Calasans and Lubambo make you stop and think about, how is magic these both instrument sounding together.

Liner Notes for Amazon RiverAmazon River is the culmination of an enduring love affair between Hendrik Meurkens and Brazilian music.

The affair began while Hendrik was growing up in Germany. Brazilian music embodied a depth of beauty and simplicity that touched his very soul. "I've always been attracted to music that focuses on melody and harmonic beauty," he explains, "That could be Bach or Bird, but for me the perfect music is Brazilian because of its sympathetic emotional context."After graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Hendrik moved to Brazil in the early 80's where he immersed himself in its music and culture. BIOLarry Green was born into a large, loving family in the small town of Ferriday, Louisiana. It was clear from an early age that music would play a central role in the life of this bright, energetic young man. His mother, the late Mrs. Lula Webb Anderson recognized her son's musical gift and wanted to give him piano lessons.
