Chicago V songs Product Information
Chicago V album for sale by Chicago was released Aug 12, 2003 on the Rhino label. CHICAGO V (from 1972) was in some ways the end of the "old" Chicago, pointing the way towards a smoother, mellower style they'd adopt in the years to come. Chicago V CD music V still has jazz and progressive elements ("A Hit By Varèse," "Dialogues"), political commentary ("State of the Union"), and melodious, sunny, horn-laden pop (the huge hit "Saturday In The Park"). The playing was still tight and clean, and the vocals still earnest and heartfelt, but a lighter mood began to replace the urgency of the band's late-'60s recordings. Chicago V CD music contains a single disc with 10 songs. ...See Full Description

I wish all of Chicago's first ten albums were done in this format. V is first of Chicago's single albums does stand out for that and with great memorable songs on it. The first three were doubles and IV had a total of four discs when it it was released on vinyl. But V has it's distinct place in history.

||A sonic adventure.|
Chicago in 5.1 is a dream come true. This, their fourth album, is very good to listen to. With so much going on soudwise there is never a calm moment. This album does a very good job of giving your sound system a workout.

|5.1 sound makes this classic seem brand new|
"V" has always been one of Chicago's finest albums, but the DVD-Audio format and Rhino's 5.1 surround treatment makes this classic come alive as never before. The live version of Dialogue is an added bonus.

||What a remix!|
Great 5.1 remix of a classic. It's so great to hear "now that you've gone" in 5.1. The horns are poppin'! I was glad to hear that the live bonus was not from "Live in Japan," like I had suspected, but from another concert in '72. Good stuff!

One of my favorite Chicago albums and a nice job by Rhino. I was somewhat skeptical at first, but pleasantly surprised by the much improved sound quality over the previous release. On with the rest of Chicago's catalog!
