Outstanding value! A fantastic collection of really great period war flicks, which I suspect, will be difficult to find elsewhere. WE DIVE AT DAWN is the best of the three = lovely sets and dialog, with a cracking story line. Mills has never done better work as the sub commander. Portman is totally believeable as the capable but troubled seaman. A great supporting cast tops off a memorable Gainsborough production. ONE OF OUR AIRCRAFT IS MISSING is a realistic tribute to the Dutch underground. A really moving performance by all concerned. Lean and Pressburger did a good job here. SPITFIRE come in third with a fictional rendering of the birth of the famous fighter. Howard and Niven are suitably rigid in their upper lips as they frustrate the dastardly Germans. Willi Messerschmitt is depicted as a short, dark Nazi, when, in fact, he was a tall dark Nazi.

 Tally ho, chaps!!
Having seen all these films on bbc over the years, i bought this only because of the price, WE DIVE AT DAWN, standing out coz of the superb cast of john mills and co, i would rate this dvd even though i felt SPITFIRE should have been left out and replaced with something else.
