With this film project that was in turnaround hell for countless years finally seeing the light of day, hordes of slasher fans were sated, and with the soundtrack to FREDDY VS. JASON, these same fanatics score an added bonus if their tastes also run to nu-metal. With enough jack-hammering beats, howling vocalists, and screaming guitars to batter even the most hardened horror movie fanatics, these 20 cuts draw primarily from the Roadrunner Records stable with quite a number of twists thrown in.
Mixed in with previously available cuts by Type O Negative (a gorgeous and goth-tinged "[We Were] Electrocute"), In Flames (the thrash-fueled "Trigger"), and Nothingface (a thumping "Ether") are juicy, previously unreleased nuggets like ominously heavy "Leech" by Sevendust and Stone Sour's thunderous "Inside the Cynic." With cinematic icons Freddy Kreuger and Jason Voorhees finally meeting, it's only appropriate that Roadrunner include one of the more intriguing nuggets from the vault, featuring Brazilian metal-mongers Sepultura laying down a dirge for former Faith No More frontman Mike Patton on "The Waste."

| Freddy vs. Jason Soundtrack Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Soundtrack of the Year I'm not much of a heavy metal fan but this soundtrack was incredible. Every song was different and every song will blow you away. With each song, you can imagine what is happening in the movie when that song played. Wonderful. Jesus Christ made a big comeback at the start of 1970s in the guise of a rock star. Perhaps it was the general disillusionment of the late '60s that sent people back to that old-time religion, or maybe it was just that, with his scraggly beard and sandals, Jesus was suddenly identifiable as the prototype of the anti-materialist hippie. In any case, his (or His) return to prominence was heralded by the success of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, which topped the American charts in February 1971. Lloyd Webber and Rice had always intended Superstar to be a stage musical, only recording the album when they failed to find the funds for a production, and they wasted little time in putting it on Broadway, opening the following October. But in between, another stage show about Jesus appeared, Godspell. It was the brainchild of John-Michael Tebelak, who had written the text as a college exercise at Carnegie-Mellon University. Tebelak brought in 23-year-old fellow alumnus Stephen Schwartz to write the music and the "new" lyrics, which, like the book, were adapted from the gospel according to St. Matthew, along with some borrowings from Mark, Luke, and John. Tebelak repeated Christ's teachings and retraced his last days in contemporary language and style, and Schwartz's songs were catchy pop/rock numbers. ...

His music is intriguing and mystical, painting a portrait which 'Lively Times' says is a 'vast movie-magic panorama.' His new release, 'Montana Dreams,' produced on his own Montana Brass label, is a mindscape nature journey leading the listener from a stressful routine back to a simpler time. The album showcases his unique blend of smooth jazz and symphonic ...
