| great all time sci fi classic This was the one that started it all. the story is so good. this how the new show should of went not with the cylons looking like humans and all the drama and darkness in it now. This cast and crew need the credit for takeing sci fi to the next level. I miss the old show. The new show is too dark there is no hope like in the old show the warriors were good guys and they had so much going for them. For the new show I give it a pass they break up the seasons with this 4.0 and 4.5 crap.Give me a break. Just like the new treks they miss the mark totally. At least this one will be around for a long long time. To bad they haven't come out with new effects or hd like they did for trek. Hopefully they will do that in the future. | Great science fiction! We saw this great movie when we were teenagers and we still love it. Our 12 year old daughter loved it, too. She was already a fan of Star Wars, but now she is also a new fan of Battlestar Galactica. The story is great, the music, the special effects and the characters are great, too. We highly recommend this movie to everyone who loves science fictions. By Briggitte and Rolf (Valencia, Spain, Europe) |
| Old school sci fi I was watching this when I was a teenager. Just when they started to use special effects. Campy for the times but, it was still good. By perrob (Duluth, GA, USA) |
| Rolicking Shwashbuckling Space Adventure Boy I gotta tell ya, this one sure brings back fond memories.... this was a favorite when I was a teen and it still is to this day. The special effects are comparable to anything today... just not as sophisticated in the CGI areas naturally.... storyline is top notch and the characters are all equally lovable... If spacea dventure on the open spaceways is your bag baby! Get it while the gettins good!! A big thumbs WAY UP! By michael (Winnipeg, MB, Canada) This review is for a different format. |
| Great Sci-Fi A fun movie unfairly compared to Star Wars. The Galactica vipers resembled the X-Wings from Star Wars, but Galactica was much darker than Star Wars. Most of the special effects hold up more than twenty years later and the music is fantastic. By a reviewer (Massachusetts) This review is for a different format. |
