| | Cher Live: The Farewell Tour CD Cher Discography of CDs
(14 Customer Reviews)
While it's hard to buy the sincerity of a farewell from an artist like Cher, an performer with more lives than a roomful of cats, it's impossible to question the significance of the live element in Cher's career. From the beginning, she was a staple in households across America on the top-rated SONNY & CHER SHOW, and throughout her showbiz life she has displayed an affinity for the cameras, from TV appearances and guest spots to an Oscar-winning movie career.
LIVE - THE FAREWELL TOUR is the audio part of a popular 2002 NBC special that helped fuel the thousandth or so resurgence of Cher's storied musical life. Opening with a roaring, danceable version of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," she launches into hits from every portion of her career, from her first hit in 1965, "All I Really Want To Do," to her "Believe"-era dance hits. LIVE reveals a Cher distinctly in her element, playfully teasing and interacting with her crowd, clearly enjoying the songs as she sings them. Though it's yet to be seen whether it's truly farewell, this live performance will certainly satisfy most Cher fans.

| | Very Best Of Cher CD (2003)
Live: The Farewell Tour CD music
$15.65 Recorded between 1965 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Kurt Loder.
The word "diva" has been thrown around a great deal in the pop world since the '90s, but Cherilyn Sarkasian, better known as Cher, was one of the original pop divas. As such, she's not only survived but prospered through the ever-changing winds of music trends. THE VERY BEST OF CHER covers all the stylistically varied phases of Cher's career. The tracks run in roughly reverse chronological order, kicking off with her massive '90s dance pop hit "Believe." Along the way, there are stops at '80s power balladry ("If I Could Turn Back Time"), late-'70s disco ("Take Me Home"), early-'70s AM pop ("Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves," "Half Breed"), and of course, the '60s folk/rock/pop hits she recorded as half of ...
| | Lisa Marie Presley To Whom It May Concern CD (2003)
Live: The Farewell Tour music CDs
$13.95 Bearing the brunt of being Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie Presley wisely chose to sit back and experience life before emerging with her full-length debut album TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. The results are surprisingly good, thanks to Presley's decision to sidestep becoming some prefabricated pop mannequin and instead take the creative reigns by penning all the lyrics, save the lament "The Road Between." Most of the record is steeped in dark imagery that goes well with her smoky phrasing ...
