face rippin pure power metal from peavy and the boys. great cd here. if you like heavy metal get this cd.very fast and heavy tunes on here.i recentl y discovered this band and i highly recomend this to any one who likes helloween -maiden -priest.peavy isn't the best singer in the world but the music is awesome and makes up for it.favs are war of the worlds &see u in heaven or hell.also get unity it's better but this still cranks. get there dvd from the cradle to the stage u will be glad u did.

 Rage - Soundchaser
A concept album with a brilliant storyline behind it actually!
The guitar on this album is provided by one of my favourite players of all time, Victor Smolski, not only is he a virtuoso guitarist, he's also one of the most prominent composer in the metal scene and this is evident in the album. His guitar playing is so fresh and so far ahead it's amazing.
The vocals on this album are amazing too, some of the best melodies and choruses of the bands career on this album. Peavy isn't hailed as a great melodic singer, and has a bit of a rough voice, but that doesn't dampen this album in the least!
Buy it, love it, and never take it out of the CD Player.

POWER METAL AT ITS BEST!!
STRAIGHT UP POWER METAL FROM GERMANY IS WHAT YOU GET HERE.FOR A TRIO THESE GUYS HAVE MORE POWER AND SOUND THEN A QUINTET .VERY ROCKING TUNES YOU'LL LOVE. IF YOU LOVE LILLER GUITAR SOLOS AND BLISTERING FAST LEADS VICTOR DELIVERS.PEAVEY AND M TERRANA HAVE A FANTASTIC RYTHYM SECTION TO DRIVE THE BAND. SO IN A NUT SHELL IF YOU LIKE HEAVY MUSIC WITH GREAT GUITAR WORK AND WELL WRITTEN SONGS BET THIS CD NOW.I HEARD THIS ONCE GOT IT AND IT QUICKLY BECAME ONE OF MY TOP 3 BANDS OFF ALL.

The Album is good from from A to Z. Every single song is virtuously played.
A master piece of mature Metal. If you are tired to listen to teen metal, than this is the Album. Victor Smolski at his best. Better than all others Rage albums.

Hammerfall's grandiose heavy metal posturing only narrowly avoids the type of self-parody exhibited by Manowar (for that matter, the bandmembers' outfits are only slightly less ridiculous than Manowar's swords-and-loincloths look). But fans of the genre probably won't care -- the band performs its soaring power metal anthems with spirit, dedication, and heroic execution on Crimson Thunder. This is pure classicism here; Hammerfall devotedly adheres to the genre guidelines of '80s power metal, without any attempts toward innovation. Includes an inspired cover version of Chastain's obscure "Angel of Mercy" and a rather pointless take on Kiss' already overdone ...

Symphony X is certainly an anomaly: an '80s-style fantasy metal band who came along in 1994 (after Nirvana and Pearl Jam's success had seriously rearranged the rock landscape) and ended up acquiring a loyal Gen-X following (especially in Europe). In the '90s and 2000s -- a time when other young headbanger bands have embraced alternative metal and been influenced by punk, rap, and/or industrial -- Symphony X has maintained an unapologetically old-school outlook. And that old-school perspective remains on The Odyssey, which is a 2002 release but recalls the classic fantasy metal of '80s favorites like Queensr˙che, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ronnie James Dio, and Iron Maiden. A few of the riffs might bring to mind Metallica, a band that emerged in the '80s but has had a strong influence on alterna-metal combos of the '90s and 2000s. (Those who assert that Metallica eventually ended up becoming as influential as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest aren't off base).
