Updated version of Emily Bronte's tale of doomed love and jealousy set in California. Stars Erika Christensen, Chris Masterson. A sweeping, epic production of Emily Bronte's classic tale of star-crossed lovers Cathy (Juliette Binoche) and Heathcliff (Ralph Fiennes), whose passionate love and tragic separation plays out against the verdant Yorkshire moors. Whereas most film adaptations of WUTHERING HEIGHTS end with the death of Cathy, this version presents the complete novel and continues the fateful consequences of the doomed love affair as it resonates throughout two generations of the Earnshaw and Linton families. Wuthering Heights Movie Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) a disappointment This movie was somewhat of a disappointment to me , as I am a huge fan of the original black and white version with Merel Oberon and Laurance Olivier. The movie seemed to take a very different twist at the end that wasn't in the original movie.Juliette Binoche is a fabulous actress however and I enjoyed her.I am still waiting for the Old black and white version to come out. That is the best. Remakes of movies sometimes miss the mark and disappoint. Submitted by Pat (Michigan , USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very Faithful Adaptation This movie was a made for TV (Turner Broadcasting) version. The soundtrack is very beautiful and fits the story and mood perfectly. Very mournful and eerie. The soundtrack was never released in the U.S. It was only released in the U.K. and Japan, and is very hard to find. I have seen copies on E-bay go for $75 to $100. Fienes and Binnoche are perfect in their roles. A great tear jerker!! Submitted by thoh318 (Ironton, Ohio) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Classic Version With such an outstanding cast, it will never fail in being the finest of all presentations of this dark Bronte tale. Submitted by Anastacia (Washington State, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A Passionate Beauty Never in my life have I been so moved by acting. The portrayals of Cathy and Heathcliff give you the raw sense of how deep love goes. Yes, Wuthering Heights is like no other and I can't put into words of how in love I am with it's story. Submitted by a reviewer (San Jose, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? The Wuthering Heights hands down! The editing, photography, pacing, acting and most of all the soundtrack. I'm having a hard time finding it. This movie is along the same quality as the '90's version "The Secret Garden" which I have the soundtrack. Collector quality! Submitted by a reviewer (Kerrville, TX, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Wuthering Heights movie DVD
$10.49 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the uptight nurse "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan (Sally Kellerman), the confused Major Frank Burns (Robert ...

| | Nine Lives Of Fritz The Cat DVD (1974) Subtitled; Widescreen
Wuthering Heights review
$9.69 The sequel to 1972's FRITZ THE CAT, NINE LIVES catches up with Fritz post-college and married. Director Ralph Bakshi continues to use the animated cat as a vehicle for satire and out and out comedy.
Fritz is unhappily married and smokes marijuana to escape into his imagination about what his other eight lives may have been like. Since FRITZ THE CAT, Fritz has degenerated to the point where his main concerns are collecting a welfare check and constructing overblown sexual scenarios in his head. From incest to political satire to space and religion, his adventures run the gamut of scathing social commentary by Bakshi, often using violence, sex, and debauchery to illustrate Fritz's demise as not only a citizen but as a human being with little interest in life as he knows it.
NINE LIVES continued in the vein of groundbreaking animation Bakshi started with in FRITZ THE CAT, and ...
