Rush - In Rio Movie Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Rio Rush fans - best audience in the World. Great video - so-so audio. Not an audiophile recording. While the video shows varied views of all three performers, I think Peart is featured - if you've wanted to see the World's premier percussionist, get the DVD for this reason alone. Rio fans - ultra high energy for the whole show. Awesome. Submitted by dougp_abo (Michigan) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$22.75 Very few Led Zeppelin performances were caught on camera during the band's life-span, but the footage that has been preserved for posterity is collected on this release. With a running time of over five-and-a-half hours, this is the definitive word on Zep's global stage-straddling performances. The footage is taken from London's Royal Albert Hall in January 1970, London's Earls Court in May 1975, Knebworth in August 1979, and Madison Square Garden in July 1973. Guitarist Jimmy ...

Rush - In Rio review
$22.99 (MP3 Available for Download) RUSH IN RIO is a unique 3-CD document that features an entire set recorded at a Rio de Janeiro show in November 2002 that was also the last date on the Vapor Trails international tour. Originally recorded for the Rush concert video/DVD of the same name, this collection is raw around the edges but still manages to capture the live might of this critically underrated progressive rock power trio. Playing South America for the first time, the Canadian threesome waded deep into their canon for this crowd of 40,000 rabid fans. In addition to serving up expected Rush perennials like "Tom Sawyer," "Limelight," and "The Spirit of Radio," Rush doled out a few more obscure nuggets including a medley of "By-Tor and the Snow Dog," "Cygnus X-1," and "Working Man."
More recent fare also gets trotted out including "Earthshine," "One Little Victory," and "Ghost Rider" from VAPOR TRAILS. Add the expected Neil Peart drum solo found within the instrumental tour de force "O Baterista," including a healthy swing jazz segment, and RUSH IN RIO proves to be another stellar addition to the band's catalog.
Principally recorded at the Maracana Stadium, in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, on November ...
| | Dream Theater Train Of Thought CD (2003)
Rush - In Rio DVD
$11.05 (MP3 Available for Download) TRAIN OF THOUGHT continues the legacy of the progressive metal legends, with all the requisite superhuman metallic musicianship that their fans have come to expect. This outing continues in the heavier mode that began with 2002's SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULENCE, reaching even further into darker, personal lyrical themes.
Guitars are the dominant expressive voice here, with keyboards scaled considerably back from the signature Dream Theater sound. Band members Mike Portnoy (drums) and John Petrucci (guitar) continue their do-it-yourself production approach, opting for recording venues on their native Long Island (much of the band's album work has taken place in upstate New York at Bear Tracks and Little Bear Studios). "As I Am" and "This Dying Soul" at times borrow generously from Metallica, featuring that band's well-known use of tri-tones, and vocalist James LaBrie even tries his hat at some Hetfield-isms. Possibly due to Petrucci's tenure on the G3 Tour (with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai), TRAIN finds him returning to Dream Theater wielding an even more lethal guitar soloing style. Of all the new tracks, the instrumental "Stream ...
