Looking For Aztlan buy CD music Here he performs nine works for solo percussion. Aguilar is an interpret/improvisor, so it comes as no surprise that these pieces, written especially for him, leave lots of room for initiative and creativity. It shows in the four included movements from John Bergamo's "Five Short Pieces for Marimba": the percussionist retitled them, changed their order of appearance, even ignored the composer's scored instructions, all with his blessing. ...See Full Description

Stray Cats Runaway Boys CDs (1997)
Looking For Aztlan buy CD music At the time, a lot of people thought the Stray Cats were just a gimmick--"Hey! If we dress like extras from GREASE and play rockabilly, we'll get on MTV!"--but the passage of time has shown that guitarist/singer Brian Setzer, at least, was completely sincere in his love of vintage rockabilly of the Sun Records variety.
Refreshingly free of attempts to update or water down the sound, the 25 tracks on RUNAWAY BOYS are poppier than say, Ronnie Dawson or Wanda Jackson, but they also lack the rather condescending white-trash-voodoo schtick of the Cramps or Southern Culture on the Skids. All the hits are here--"Rock This Town," "Stray Cat Strut," "Sexy and 17," the lovely neo-doo-wop ballad "I Won't Stand In Your Way"--but the surprising thing is how some of the rarities, like smoking covers of "I Fought the Law" and "You Can't Hurry Love," are even better than the hits.
Digitally mastered 1997 retrospective on the Recall label featuring 36 tracks. Disc two is 18 live tracks, including the hits 'Stray Cat Strut', 'She's Sexy & 17' and 'Rock ThisTown'. Disc one is one of their most recent recordings & includes 'Elvis On Velvet', 'Mystery Train', 'Twenty Flight Rock' & 'Lonesome Tears' from their 'Choo Choo Hot Fish' & 'Original Cool' albums. Double slimline jewelcase.
