| Vulgar Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Ai! I absolutly ADORE this album! Obscure is one of the best songs and it's great to sing along too.
I also love this album cover. In fact, all the CD covers are really good. Submitted by Pixie_False (South Australia, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Under-rated! I've been a Diru fan for several years now, and when this album was released, like every new release, everyone complained about the lack of outstanding songs and etc, but after several singles, a couple years, and an album later many of the people I know that said it was trash realize that it's a great compilation, and has a song for every mood. From the poppy kasumi and amber to increase blue and child prey, which are great head-bangers. And sajou no uta is a ballad I recently used in a speech. This album is just so good, and has a little bit of everything the band's ever done in it. Is great for a first album, or just completing your collection! It can get rather 'screamy,' so not recommended for a first-time in jrock, unless that's fine.

VULGAR review An amazing album, really showing how Diru have progressed since Missa and Gauze. In this album they flow easily from soft, slightly affectionate songs like Sajou no Uta to heavy, tense songs like Obscure. Throw in brilliant air guitar tracks like Asunaki Koufuku, Koenaki Asu and RED...[em], the hard and heavy Marmalade Chainsaw, and you know you're onto a winner. If you're a fan of Dir en Grey, this is the album for you...enjoy. I know I did! Submitted by Cathy (England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Extreme The lyrics is like kyo usually is, abit sick, i was kind of surprised when i heard this, cause the only other cd ive heard is Macabre, theyre heavier, abit more noise, but still the sad-ish songs.
This cd is highly recommended! Submitted by Krieg (Norway) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Microphones Mount Eerie CD (2003)
Vulgar album
$12.19 The Microphones' most demanding album, Mount Eerie, isn't exactly the follow-up to The Glow, Pt. 2 that one might expect. Instead of offering more expansive, kaleidoscopic pop, Phil Elvrum presents a concept album about life, death, and identity that spans five epic songs. Microphones fans are used to Elvrum's artistic twists, but this album is a hairpin turn, moving into much more abstract territory than any of his previous work. The 17-minute opening track "The Sun" ( "In which the story begins, where you are born and run away from death up the mountain in fear and are watched by a ball of fire," the liner notes explain) is a perfect example. It begins with heartbeats and the heavy, tolling bells that closed The Glow, Pt. 2, and moves to layered, galloping drums and horns that sound like a race or a hunting party, which are silenced abruptly by a ghostly choir, a hesitant guitar, and Elvrum's desolate, vulnerable vocals before an explosion of distortion finishes the track. It's a hypnotic, portentous beginning, introducing the suspense and search for spirituality that dominate Mount Eerie. The album is concerned with death in all of its forms -- the end of a day, of a life -- not in a morbid way, but as a necessary transition or as the answer to a question (which, of course, only provokes more questions). When death finally comes on the title track, in the form of Little Wings' Kyle Field, it's as funny as it is unsettling: "I'll press you to the ground / You'll fade from where you're found." Likewise, the accompanying vultures -- voiced by Karl Blau -- are so cartoonishly morose that they add little more than (admittedly dark) humor to leaven the atmosphere. Vocal cameos by friends and collaborators such as Mirah, Khaela Maricich, Dennis Driscoll, Adam Forkner, and Calvin Johnson (wittily cast as the voice of the Universe) make Mount Eerie feel more like a school pageant than a concept ...

Vulgar songs
$11.26 THE VOICEThe words 'mesmerizing' and 'amazing' are just some of comments you hear from critics and audience alike when this Prairie Celtic folk singer takes the stage. Jennifer Clarke is one of the most engaging acts on the Celtic scene, whether performing solo or with her band, 'Wild Mountain Thyme'. She's especially known for her ability to enchant with only a single instrument: her unforgettable voice. A second-generation Scottish-Canadian, Jennifer's connection to her heritage has given her an intuitive sense for traditional Celtic music. To this she adds the flavours of more modern folk instrumentation and contemporary world beat rhythms, relying on her unerring sense of what's needed to bring out the story behind the song. The end result is a sound, rich in texture and variety.IN CONCERTJennifer's flexible performance style makes her a natural for everything from intimate house concert or coffeehouse to the main stages of Celtic and folk festivals. She has shared stages with the likes of Shooglenifty, Buddy McMaster, Vance Gilbert and Scottish Storytellers Margaret Tollick and Judy Paterson. Her soulful laments, whimsical humour, relaxed ...
| | Stellar Ash Growing Into Everything CD (2007)
Vulgar album
$16.45 David Rose is the creative force behind Stellar Ash. This multi-talented musician was born in the village of Eganville in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. David had a desire for composing and playing music beginning at a young age. He began playing the piano at age 3 and, in true valley style, soon picked up the fiddle to accompany his brother and sister while they step-danced. As an adolescent, Dave ignited his passion for guitar, a relationship which he has continually fostered and nurtured for the last 15 years. At the age of 17, Dave took a high school co-op placement in Ottawa at recording studio where he took the opportunity to record “Stranded” (1994), his first full length album. Without a band, Dave recorded all of the instruments himself. The album reflected a personal connection to his music and showcased the 60’s guitar rock and 90’s grunge style arrangements ...
