Purchase New CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Pink Funhouse CD (2008) Explicit
New album
$8.99 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, are in full effect on all 12 tracks. Even though the album deals primarily with aftermath of her divorce and includes serious moments of self-confrontation like "Sober," fans needn't worry that Pink has lost any of her chutzpah.
If anything, there's an increased sense of confidence and newfound liberation on tracks like the chest-thumping "So What" and the mischievous, bouncing "Bad Influence." In softer moments, like the ballad "I Don't Believe You" and the soulful "One Wrong Foot," Pink channels her personal experience into expressions that carry no less strength or muscle. But FUNHOUSE is a pop album first and foremost, and its catchy choruses, rollicking beats, and memorable vocal performances won't disappoint.
Arrangers: Stevie Blacke; Ulf Janson; Henrik Janson.
Personnel: Pink (vocals, background vocals); Shellback (guitar, acoustic guitar, omnichord, keyboards, bass guitar, drums, percussion); Pete Wallace (guitar, piano, harmonium, bass ...
| | R Kelly Untitled CD (2009)
New CD music
$11.18 After his aborted, internet-leaked 2008 album, 12 PLAY: 4TH QUARTER, R. Kelly busied himself with guest spots for Beyonce, T-Pain, and Kanye West, even offering a free download on iTunes, "I Believe," inspired by the election of president Barack Obama. While such moves insured that Kelly would never stray far from the R&B throne he's occupied for more than a decade, his 2009 reboot of 12 PLAY, UNTITLED, should provide more than enough reason for fans to keep coming back for more. From Auto Tune-laden crowd pleasers like "Outta the Game" and "Crazy Night" to rousing club-oriented numbers like "Echo," Kelly downplays the slower "baby-making" jams this time around for a set of largely up-tempo songs, capped by a sultry collaboration with Keri Hilson ("Number One").

Arranger: R. Kelly.
12 Play: 4th Quarter leaked well ahead of its intended release date, and "Hairbraider," its intended lead single, deservedly flopped, prompting R. Kelly and Jive to shelve the project. Over a year after the leak, and just in time for the 2009 holiday season shopping rush, a new R. album in the form of Untitled receives an official release, featuring a track ...

| | Juvenile Cocky And Confident CD (2009)
New CD music
$14.24 Shaking off the personal tragedy of losing his four-year-old daughter to gun violence a year earlier, Juvenile's 2009 effort is just what it says on the cover. Cocky & Confident is also a return to form for the rapper, filled with the street music and club tracks that helped launch his career, along with all the provocative sniping that Juvy always nails. During the opening title track it's "If you a pitbull/I'm Mike Vick," while later, during the Dirty South triumph that's "I'm Out Chere," it's the flat-out admittance that "I'm no humanitarian" before some bragging about his gear begins with "All white Guccis like an Aryan." The bedroom numbers like "Make U Feel Alright" with Kango Slim work just as well, balancing polish ...
| | Brandy Never Say Never CD (1998) (Import) Japan
New music CDs
$40.75 NEVER SAY NEVER was nominated for a 1999 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "The Boy Is Mine" won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, and was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best R&B Song. "Almost Doesn't Count" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
Japanese import edition includes a bonus track ("This Boy is Mine").
Avoiding the dreaded sophomore slump, Brandy delivers a fresh-sounding, well- crafted second album that sounds as much like pop as it does R&B. NEVER SAY NEVER features a song, "Have You Ever?," that was written by mega-songstress Diane Warren and produced by super-producer David Foster. The lead single, "The Boy is Mine" is a duet with fellow R&B'er Monica. Keeping up with the trend of big-time collaborations, multi-platinum rapper Mase makes an appearance on "Top of the World," which seems custom made for jeep jockeys.
Although sprinkled with other contributors, most of the album was produced by Rodney Jerkins. With a focus that is sometimes lost on a follow-up to a smashing debut, Brandy's composure and experience shine through in a product that is 16 songs deep. The album also contains a cover of "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)," produced by Foster.
Japanese Release Featuring A Bonus Track: The Boy Is Mine.
Personnel includes: Brandy, Monica (vocals); Mase (rap); Dean Parks (acoustic guitar); Isaac Phillips, Rick Williams, Anas Allaf, Michael Thompson (guitar); The Darkchild Orchestra (strings); David Foster (piano, keyboards); Harvey Mason Jr. (keyboards); Nathan East (bass); Harvey Mason Sr. (percussion); ...
