| | Campground Effect Kindling CD Campground Effect Discography of CDs
Simply put, Campground Effect is a rock band. It's the only "label" that seems to make any sense at all, being that it leaves ideas open and is less constricting than some sort of ridiculous sub-genre. They're not "post-this," "pre-that," or any other hyphenated musical mockery. The songs will vary from loud obnoxious noise to slower droning mishaps. The formulas and melodies lean away from a tired pop sense and direct themselves to more obscure, and at times, dissonant patterns. And after all that, it's still just rock music. Kindling album
$14.38 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending ...

KC's debut album introduced to the world a group that threw various '60s genres into a blender and set the results afire with a blowtorch. One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement that began in the late '60s and flourished in the early '70s, King Crimson was arguably the most consistently creative band in the genre. On IN THE COURT they blend wispy, Donovan-ish folk-rock with Wagnerian grandeur, mind-bending heavy rock, and even a free- jazz sensibility. Greg Lake's vocals are effectively theatrical but more restrained than in his later ELP work. Robert Fripp was just learning how to make mincemeat of a chord progression, but he's alternately lyrical and frenetic as ...
| | Rod Stewart Never A Dull Moment (Gold) CD (1972) Gold
Kindling album
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling up nicely next to these heartfelt interpretations are some of Stewart's finest original songs. Teaming ...
| | Halford III: Winter Songs CD (2009) Special Edition; Digipak
Kindling CD music
$13.75 At first glance, Halford's entry into the crowded holiday market looks like a parody. Heavy metal and Christmas make for strange bedfellows, and WINTER SONGS' pastoral cover art -- which depicts Rob Halford staring wistfully (with a goatee and shades) ...
| | Vancouver Choir Miracle Of Christmas CD (2006)
Kindling music CDs
$14.19 The Miracle of Christmas is a South American Christmas celebration by Juno Award winning Ancient Cultures, featuring the Vancouver Chamber Choir. This Album is an extraordinary collection of Christmas classics performed with a variety of acoustic instruments including quena, zampona, shakuhachi flute, Spanish guitar and percussion. The Vancouver Chamber Choir under the masterful direction of Jon Washburn is one of the finest ensembles in the country. The Miracle of Christmas is a radiant expression of festive celebration you will want in your holiday collection.Canadian music fans are indeed fortunate. With a national culture that embraces cultural diversity, we are continually treated to the musical traditions of citizens who have moved to Canada from other countries. And, inevitably, native-born Canadians join forces with newly-arrived Canadians to form musical collaborations. Ancient Cultures is such a collaboration--a group that plays Latin American folk music.Ancient Cultures, based in Vancouver, is composed of a mixed group of musicians. Alberto San Martin, Carlos Cortes, and Angel Araos come from Chile, but their musical roots are in jazz, folk, and classical music respectively. Fito Garcia comes from Guatemala and arranges and plays salsa music. Edward Henderson is from Vancouver Island where he grew up playing folk and classical music. Carlos Galindo Leal is from Mexico and has many years experience playing Spanish and Latin American music. Their debut album, Acoustic Mirage/Espejismo Acustico, combines their musical backgrounds into a deft, understated, weave of Latin American music. It is a beautiful, introspective offering. By their second album, El Camino Real, the group achieves full maturity. Awarded a Juno in 1994 as "Best World Beat Recording," the album displays more creative energy and a clearer sense of direction. This is a fine, sure album that should be on playlist of anyone who loves Latin American music. And for those who like Christmas albums with a twist, The Miracle of Christmas, which features the Vancouver Chamber Choir along with the Latin American folk instruments, is an album that is irresistible. The central Andean regions of the countries of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile (the list is geographic from north to south) are among the richest in the world with regard to variety of musical and folkloric traditions. Long before the Spanish conquest, and even much before the Inca civilization, the diverse native cultures of the region had rich musical traditions. Ancient tombs have yielded flutes, trumpets, drums, and other musical artifacts; many ceramic jars found in ancient tombs depict musical instruments being used in various contexts (shamanism, propitiation to the gods, hunting, dancing) that are difficult to interpret. Music was obviously important in the human and supernatural ...
