Let's Make Love - Marilyn Monroe Let's Make Love CD (1960)
Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues: Godfathers & Sons. Soundtrack CD music This is the original motion picture soundtrack to Marilyn Monroe's penultimate cinematic effort, Let's Make Love (1960). She co-starred with her then-beau, Yves Montand, as Amanda Dell, an up-and-coming actress who gets a part playing opposite Montand's character, millionaire Jean-Marc Clement. The lightweight comedic affair was a perfect vehicle for Monroe's arguably limited dramatic range. One of the film's most memorable scenes is the performance of Cole Porter's "My Heart Belongs to Daddy." The over the top camp and pseudo-sensuality perhaps unintentionally parodies Monroe's sex kitten image. The same can be said of the Sammy Cahn/Jimmy Van Heusen title song, which is offered in different arrangements as respective solos for both Monroe and Montand. It is English actor/singer Frankie Vaughan, that saves "Specialization" and "Incurable Romantic" from Monroe's hapless incompetence. His solo, "Hey You With the Crazy Eyes," is a breezy pop tune with real character and stands as one of the highlights. Noted jazz pianist/composer/arranger Gerald Wiggins scored the film's incidental tracks "Latin One" and "Strip City." While his contributions are brief, if not somewhat understated, they provide much-needed musical compensation. Inevitably, there will be cinemaniacs who will give this soundtrack a higher evaluation, presumably on the merit of Monroe's association alone. ~ Lindsay Planer

Bluebeard Deluxe With Reverb CD (2006)
Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues: Godfathers & Sons. Soundtrack album for sale Bluebeard was formed in the early-1970s by Vincent Bitetti, Vincent Thomas-Penny, Gayle Hart, Danny Bogan and Barry Leech. Although their line-up changed slightly over the years, Barry Leech was always central to the group's persona and creative vision. His tragic death in 2004 created a catalyst from which the band found new meaning and a singular focus to once and for all bring their signature brand of classic rock to the world. All of their music is dedicated to the memory-and last wishes-of Barry Leech. In mid 2004, producer and former Illinois-based One-Eyed Jacks bassist and keyboardist Barry Fasman was recruited for lead production duties, as well as keyboards and vocals. Former Siddhartha front man and longtime friend of the band, Elington Erin stepped in to handle vocal duties and completed the new line up. Since the music of Bluebeard has been described as having elements of hard rock, art rock, and progressive rock-they needed the firepower that Fasman and Erin bring to the table to complete the signature Bluebeard sound-a powerful combination of classic rock's past, present and future. Brian Barnum (who played with Barry Leech in the early '90's), replaced Vincent-Thomas Penny in June of 2006 - keeping the dual lead guitar sound intact.
