Recorded at Morrisound Recording, Tampa, Florida. Includes liner notes by Mike Gitter. Personnel: John Tardy (vocals); James Murphy , Allen West, Trevor Peres (guitar); Donald Tardy (drums); Kent Smith (sound effects). Audio Mixers: Donald Tardy; Scott Burns ; John Tardy. Audio Remasterer: George Marino. Liner Note Author: Mike Gitter. Recording information: Morrisound Recording, Tampa, FL. Photographers: Tim Hubbard; Susan Clark. As part of its 1998 Obituary reissue campaign, Roadrunner released not only the albums themselves but also a pair of two-fers: Slowly We Rot/Cause of Death and The End Complete/World Demise. These two-fers feature not only the remastered sound of the reissues but also the same bonus tracks. Plus, they're quite a bargain relative to buying the albums individually. On the downside, you're stuck with typically unappealing two-fer artwork, and of course, you're stuck with two albums rather than one. This latter issue isn't such a big deal with these Obituary reissues because the partnered albums go together well. In the case of Slowly We Rot/Cause of Death, you get the band's first two albums, from 1989 and 1990, respectively. The former is a landmark, one of the first major death metal albums to surface and one of Obituary's best; the latter is an anomaly in the band's catalog, plagued by poor production values but highlighted by the substitute guitar duties of the mighty James Murphy of Death (lead guitarist Allen West is absent here). These are two of the most influential death metal albums ever and some of the best music to ever come out of the Florida school. If you're an Obituary fan, these are two of the band's albums you'll most certainly want to hear, along with the successive one, The End Complete. So if you see yourself getting into Obituary and are just now acquiring their music, you might as well save yourself some money and buy this two-fer, unless the original artwork is worth the extra money to you. Or if you're an old fan looking to replace your original, relatively crappy-sounding editions, this is a cheap way to do so, again as long as you don't mind the two-fer artwork. ~ Jason Birchmeier

| Slowly We Rot/Cause Of Death Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Awesome Death Metal vocals especially on Chopped in Half. John Tardy's vocals is one of the best in death metal only behind Brett Hoffman, LG Petrov, and Glen Benton on the first two Deicide albums. crushing death metal at it's finest We hear the typical Obituary sound,anti-tone and loud and fast.James Murphy dominates this album but just as I'm thinking man,he plays too much he whips out a great solo and it's all forgotten.Slowly is better I think though Submitted by kronikdenny (rockland,ma.) Slowly We Rot/Cause Of Death album
$15.45 Excellent 2007 digitally remastered two-fer from the legendary vocalist. Despite the success of his previous two Atlantic albums of film and show tunes, in the summer of 1966, Bobby Darin ditched his tuxedo image and for a while became a fully-fledged folk hero. His first album to feature this dramatic change of style was If I Were A Carpenter, issued in December 1966. Darin's touch proved masterful and his interpretation of the Tim Hardin-written title track reached # 8 in the US, his biggest hit since 1960. Inside Out traveled a similar path and was released in 1967. The five bonus tracks are taken from the aborted sessions for a subsequent album, and were unreleased at the time of recording. The booklet features a lengthy and detailed sleevenote by Fred Dellar. Edsel.
Personnel includes: Marc Bolan (vocals, guitar); Gloria Jones (vocals, keyboards); Miller Anderson (slide guitar); Howie Casey (saxophone); Lonnie Jordan (piano); Steve Currie (bass); Davey Lutton, Bill Legend (drums); Sue, Sunny, Vicky Brown, Barry St. John, Flo & Eddie (background vocals); Elton John, Ringo Starr. Engineers include: Marc Stavrou Includes liner notes by Mark Paytress. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Also available on Chronicles as 2 separate CDs: GREAT HITS 1972-1977: THE A-SIDES (534 361) & GREAT HITS 1972-1977: THE B-SIDES (534 362). This 2 CD set contains 44 tracks. Includes liner notes by Mark Paytress. Featuring the same songs as the two-disc GREATEST HITS: 1972-1977, this T. Rex collection performs the service of arranging the tracks in chronological order, whereas the former set divides the CDs up into A-sides and B-sides. While it's up to listeners to decide ...
