2 for 1 deal of the moment here 2 great albums bundled together. I cannot believe what I am seeing. If you don't have these, get them. This band took death metal in a new direction with Effigy. Pierced From within is one of my favorites. Brutal and at the same time, complex. Wow! Submitted by drudow (Lawrenceville, GA USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Two Death Metal Classics that laid the foundation... You simply cannot find a better bundled offer than this. The ground-breaking "Effigy Of The Forgotten" AND the metal behemoth "Pierced From Within" (which I still consider to this day to be one of the most brutal, savage death metal releases of all time), for the price of one! Forget the price, these two releases are a must have for any discerning metalhead - it indeed is a rarity to encounter albums that so masterfully capture the very essence of what makes death metal as captivating a genre as it is. Effigy Of The Forgotten/Pierced From Within CD music
$9.79 This five-song EP was Suffocation's first release after their split with Roadrunner Records, and until they surprisingly announced that they were re-forming in early 2003, it also looked to be their last release, period. Originally released on the small Vulture label and later reissued by Relapse ...

Effigy Of The Forgotten/Pierced From Within songs
$13.29 Souls to Deny is Suffocation's first release since 1998's Despise the Sun EP, and their first full-length since 1995's Pierced From Within. Since they'd been on hiatus for a while, this is technically a "reunion album," but it doesn't feel like one. Interestingly, Suffocation haven't really changed their basic style much at all since those earlier releases, yet this album still sounds completely current in terms of the present-day death metal scene -- probably because so many bands continue to be influenced by Suffocation's early- to mid-'90s albums. However, even though the surface-level characteristics of the band's ...

| | Brand X Introducing CD (2003) (Import) United Kingdom
Effigy Of The Forgotten/Pierced From Within songs
$7.59 INTRODUCING is a collection of tracks recorded by the prog-rock band Brand X.
This 13-track budget-priced compilation of Brand X's 1977-1980 period is a decent appetite whetter, featuring four tracks from Moroccan Roll, two from Livestock, "Black Moon" from Masques (there should have been more from this album), three from Product, two from Unorthodox Behaviour, and one from Do They Hurt? Fans gain nothing by having this, except another sexually suggestive sleeve image by Hipnosis. But then, this isn't for fans; it is an introduction to the band for the uninitiated -- but who is gonna even care at this stage of the game if you don't already know? Brand ...
| | Wintersun CD (2004)
Effigy Of The Forgotten/Pierced From Within album
$12.09 At first glance, a Finnish heavy metal band named Wintersun, whose album cover shows a fallen warrior lying face down in the snow, might elicit thoughts of simplistic black metal infused with pagan or anti-Christian messages, but it doesn't take long for this eponymous debut to prove that first impressions can be deceiving. In fact, the new project of former Ensiferum and Arthemesia vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jari Mäenpäa merges the hyper-fast precision of Yngwie Malmsteen-like guitar playing (witness the speedy "Beyond the Dark Sun") with the melodic ...

Effigy Of The Forgotten/Pierced From Within CD music
$16.45 Born on a Texan farm to hippies (who later converted to Christianity and moved to the suburbs) China Curtiss displayed an uncanny knack for melody at an early age. At 18 months, she began whistling before she could speak in full sentences, and by the time she was 7, she was writing her own piano compositions. After a two-year stint at Vanderbilt\'s Blair School of Music, China ventured out on her own, traveling the world with Youth With A Mission. She finally landed in Denver, CO in 2000, and began teaching music and ...
