Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles X2: X-MEN UNITED, the remarkable sequel to X-MEN, picks up shortly after the first film's finale. At the White House, a would-be assassin--the acrobatic, teleporting blue mutant Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming)--menaces the president. Meanwhile, in the Canadian Rockies, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) searches for answers to his mysterious past at the top-secret facility where he received his metallic skeleton and claws. Back at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) and Storm (Halle Berry) instruct students Rogue (Anna Paquin), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), and Pyro (Aaron Stanford), while Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Cyclops (James Marsden) pay a visit to the imprisoned Magneto (Ian McKellen). However, Magneto has a secret weapon in the shape-shifting Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos). Soon allies and enemies alike will unite to defeat the hate-filled military scientist William Stryker (Brian Cox), who wants to rid the world of mutants. When Stryker launches a ruthless two-pronged attack that leaves the school under siege and Xavier and Cyclops captured, Wolverine and the remaining X-Men must spring to action to save their friends and prevent all-out genocide.
Even better than its excellent precursor, X2 delves deeper into the X-Men mythology, introducing new characters and touching on essential storylines from the decades-long run of the Marvel comic book series. Providing larger action-packed set pieces and more advanced special effects, director Bryan Singer further develops the characters of Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Iceman, Pyro, and Mystique. Each member of the cast breathes vitality into their mutant characters with Wolverine, perfectly portrayed by Jackman, once again the wild heart at the center. A love letter to longtime fans of the comic and an amazingly entertaining movie for everyone else, X2: X-MEN UNITED is that rare breed of sequel that manages to improve on the original in every way. Theatrical Release Date: May 2, 2003 X2: X-Men United Reviews: "...It's shiny pop art with an arch, cultured heart underneath..."
-- Daniel Davis, Movieline's Hollywood Life "...It's in the quieter, more dramatic moments that the sequel really gets under the skin..."
-- Dan Jolin, Total Film "Full of incident..."
-- Leslie Felperin, Uncut "...A symphony of crescendos and pauses, orchestrated toward a big seat-rattling climax, during which an enormous dam breaks, veins bulge on both villainous and heroic brows, and a lot of computer-generated images pop, wiggle and shimmy to the throb and roar of John Ottman's music..."
-- A. O. Scott, New York Times "...The cast is full of actors who are fun to watch..."-- Mike Clark, USA Today "...It lives in the present, providing one amazing spectacle after another..."
-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "...Hugh Jackman is again in fierce, lupine form as Wolverine..."
-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone ...No other film-maker has better dramatised superpowers in action and yet remembered the human cost of all the trickery. X2 is full of double-edged power fantasies that manage a frisson of awe amid the excitement..."
-- Kim Newman, Sight and Sound "...X2 is 2 good to be 4-gotten. Brisk and involving with a streamlined forward propulsion....One of the unexpected aspects of X2 is the way its concerns seem to be uncannily relevant today..."-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times X2: X-Men United | List Price | $19.98 (You save $9.99) | | Studio | 20th Century Fox | | Orig Year | 2003 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 30673 | | CD Universe Part number | 6266037 | | Discs | 2 | | Release Date | May 25, 2004 | | Rating | PG-13 (MPAA) | | Rating Reason | sci-fi action/violence, some sexuality, and brief language | | Also Known As | X-Men United: X2; X-Men 2 | | Running Time | 132 Minutes | | Additional Info | Pan & Scan; Includes bonus featurettes DVD | | Movie Details | Color; Pan & Scan; Includes bonus featurettes DVD; Pan & Scan 2-Disc Set |
X2: X-Men United Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Exiting, Full action Packed If you want special effects, action, good storyline you have to see this movie Excelent!!!!!!!. Submitted by manortiz (Bogotá Colombia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Bryan Singer Comeback !!! There is no doubt that Bryan Singer is the director to handle the X-men franchise. He should have finished the trilogy and then handed it off to someone whose style he trusted to direct and write, and then he would oversee it as the executive producer/director. X3 was too fast, too many new characters to introduce and develop into the story, parts of it could have been saved but essentially a start over.
Xavier-Just like Cyclops, killed too soon and credit-scene was too far into the future, by way of the comics.
Storm-More depth,history and not a leader yet
Wolverine-is good stradling between cranky/agressive
Cyclops-needs to get over it & grow up J.Grey-Phoenix changed to quickly from recognizing her new persona to losing control and joining the other team.
Rogue-Would not have gave up her power.
Iceman-Could have been a bit more cocky.
Night Crawler-Why wasn't he there ?! He could have transported in and got the kid out.
Colossus-More time & Battle sequences
Beast-Was handled well
From X-2 we knew we would see these later two characters brought out and developed into the story, but only those two. Obviously they couldn't go into too much depth and history with all the characters, but a little here and there would have added to the Bryan Singer films.
Then they introduced Kitty Pryde, Angel, Juggernaut, Multiple Man and those few odd evil ones; plus a horde of others that ended up being killed by the Phoenix. Too Fast, Too Much & Too Soon with the whole movie.

THE BEST COMIC RELATED MOVIE EVER!!! First of all, thanks cduniverse once again for a spectacular service!!! Faster and secure than other delivery systems on the net!!!
On the movie; Singer delivers his best, action packed adventure of super heroes in the flesh. Jackman is more Wolverine than ever, cutting loose the way fans wanted and showing things from his past in a way that not interrupts the pace and puting the roots to a future Wolverine movie? Maybe!!! The rest of the cast is more in their roles, as always Magneto portrayed fantastically by Sir Ian McKellen.
If you like action, well defined characters, and excellent visuals, this is your flick!!! Submitted by nathans (montevideo, uruguay) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

X2: X-Men United film
$5.95 When hip-hop/R&B quartet En Vogue appeared on the scene in 1990 with BORN TO SING, it was clear that they were a force to be reckoned with. Carefully assembled by producers Thomas McElroy and Denzil Foster, En Vogue blended girl-group sass with soul, funk, pop smarts, and a sophisticated sense of style and edge. The harmonies of the three vocalists gave a cool, glossy edge to all their material, and that key element--along with the other hallmarks of their style--is clearly ...
| | Mark Wills Greatest Hits CD (2002)
X2: X-Men United review
$12.59 Like his contemporaries Clay Walker and Kenny Chesney, Mark Wills has always been at his best on the weepers. GREATEST HITS wisely sticks to ballads and thus makes for a cohesive, consistent and enjoyable listen. The tunes are arranged chronologically, so it's easy to hear how Wills's sound has become increasingly pop-oriented. Though the production eventually becomes so slick there's little to remind one that this is a country album, Wills's extraordinarily sensitive vocals more than make up for the rather bland backing tracks. In addition to the chart toppers, GREATEST HITS includes two new tracks. "19 Something" is a laundry list of gen-x nostalgia items (Stretch Armstrong, parachute pants) and is seemingly designed for fans of That '70s Show, but Wills's sincere delivery renders it strangely affecting. "When You Think Of Me" is similar thematically to Glen Campbell's classic "Witchita Lineman," and nearly as heart wrenching. GREATEST HITS is an excellent collection ...
