Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles Danny Boyle (SHALLOW GRAVE, TRANSPOTTING) directs this post-apocalyptic thriller set in London after a deadly, Ebola-like virus has swept through the city. Jim (Cillian Murphy), a bicycle messenger who was in an accident just days before the outbreak, is one of very few survivors who awakes 28 days later to a city that has been evacuated and is now utterly lifeless. He wanders the vacant streets of London feeling as if he's trapped in a never-ending hallucination. However, upon entering a church that is littered with dead bodies, he discovers that he is not alone--"the infected" are still living. They are violently sick, fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies who travel at night in ravenous packs. Jim manages to escape "the infected" and locate a band of survivors--Selena (Naomie Harris), Hannah (Megan Burns), and Frank (Brendan Gleeson)--and they join forces searching for solutions, clinging to hope that somewhere healthy humanity thrives.
A gripping and suspenseful horror film with indie production values, shot on digital video, 28 DAYS LATER has a pleasing immediacy. Its actors are primarily young unknowns, its special effects consist of beautiful photography overlays and flashes of light with lots of shadow play, and its settings are rich and dramatic. The soundtrack is one of the film's truest strengths, with excellent music from Brian Eno, Blue States, Grandaddy, and Godspeed You Black Emperor guiding the action from the first minutes through to the last. Theatrical Release Date: June 27, 2003
After a month in U.S. theaters, on July 25, 2003, a new version of the film was put into circulation with a second ending. After the original ending a title reading, "But what if..." appeared onscreen with a 4-minute alternative finish. 28 Days Later Reviews: "...28 DAYS LATER is a provocative, scary thriller with timely overtones..."

28 Days Later Movie Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Worst Movie I Had Ever Seen No joke people, this is the worst movie i have ever seen, very poor trying to take off a resident evil type thing.
After an hour i looked at my girlfriend and said, "Even if this movie turns great there's no way i could sit through this first half again".
Once the crap ending had come i again turned to her with a shocked look on my face an said "i can't believe i brought that crap, it;s the worst thing i've ever seen". Submitted by matster (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent! Danny Boyle keeps on the top! This movie is great, at first when i wnet 2 the cinema, i though it was like a Resident Evil's videogame storyline, but it's not at all, the movie keeps u awake every moment, great scipt, make-up, music, and direction by Danny Boyle that makes him keeps on the top. This is a must have for the real Suspense/Terror films' fans out there, besides, to change a bit the so exploded USA movies 4 a UK one. THE 2ND ONES WAY BETTER THAN THIS!!! This movies slow, and not that interesting.I loved the 2nd one,and went to watch this, and was let down quite a bit by this one.I thought the ending was unrealistic, and I didn't like it.Plus I didn't like how it got all military at the end,to me it ruined the whole horror movie vibe.So I'd say even if you hated this movie rent the second one it's much, much better... Smart and Entertaining! Not Scary! I first saw some parts a couple of years ago on HBO. I thought it was interesting, so I got this movie. It got all suspicious. It started at a lab showing all these people running and killing in the streets and bunch of chimps were all crazed-up, and some people broke in the lab and started taking pictures. So some scientist showed-up and tried call security, but one guy caught him and the girl opened a cage and the chimp came out and attacking her, then she became infected and spit blood at this one guy and she chased the scientist. Then, London was empty and Jim woke up in the hospital, all naked. Walked the streets and started calling out HELLO! When he went to the church, an infected priest showed-up and Jim smacked him and ranned-off. 4 more infected started chasing him too. But Selena and Mark threw fire at the infected and went to a safe place. She started to tell Jim what happened to London, and that Paris and New York had the same situation. And told him that a virus that goes to the blood. After that they wandered off the streets and went to Jim's house where his parents were. He found that both his parents died. At night, while Mark and Selena were sleeping, Jim got up and having a flash-back about him and his parents.(but how could he lit up a candle during night while the infected people are still out there) so two infected busted in and Mark and Selena woke up and killed the infected, but Mark was bitten and had his blood mixed with the infected. Selena could tell something was wrong with Mark so she got a machette , chopped his arm off and started stabbing him. So Jim and Selena went into the streets and went into this one place and saw two more infected and chasing them upstairs. But they saw a guy in a SWAT or police uniform, named Frank and he killed both of the infected. But while he was, one girl, named Hannah, wouldn't let Selena in and she started asking "where's daddy?" but the guy told her to open the door and all 4 went in. The next day Jim saw a bunch of buckets on top of the apartment, Frank said they tried to get water from rain , but it hasn't rained in weeks, then he tried to get a radio signal and there was a military base that is still in London. They all went into a car and drove to find it. Their tire was busted but while they were fixing it, a bunch of infected started running towards them, they tried to hurry and drove away. They stopped at a grocery shop and bought some food and had a picnic. Jim had a nightmare that he woke up and he was all alone in the field and the other 3 abandoned him and called out HELLO! But Frank told him that it was a nightmare. But when they found the base there was no one and Frank got pissed. He saw a bird that kept chirping and he kicked but when he did, a dead guy's blood poured in Frank's eye and Hannah show-up and Frank told her how much he loved her but he kept telling her to stay away from him and a few seconds later, Frank became infected and Selena kept telling Jim to kill Frank but before he did a soldier shot Frank. They all went into a big mansion with the military. The general gave Jim a tour and showed him an infected soldier that the soldiers chained. West told him that they didn't shoot him because they wanted to know how long it would take for the infected to starve to death. The infected don't feed on human's flesh because whether they forgot to or they don't bother to. Jim then figured the military made the infection and Jim was about to leave and one of the soldier smaked him at the face. The soldiers betrayed them and took him to the woods to kill him. But one of the soldier accidentally shot one soldier and Jim had a chance to escape. The soldiers thought he was dead already but they were wrong. Jim killed 2 soldiers before going inside the mansion. But Jim wasn't the only one that was attacking the mansion, he let the infected soldier free and busted from the windows and spit blood at one soldier and he became infected also. Selena and Hannah made a run for it, but 2 soldiers caught them and saw one soldier running away from something. One soldier saw an infected and was about to shoot it and the second infected caught him and killed him. Jim was trying to find Selena and Hannah but the infected saw him and also saw a soldier hiding beside the bed and telling Jim that he doesn't any bullets. But the infected busted their way in and Jim left the soldier while the infected were killing him. Jim saw Selena being held by one soldier. Jim killed the sldier by putting his fingers in the dude's eyes. Selena thought Jim was infected but wasn't. The 3 of them tried make a run for it but West, the only soldier left, was in the car the whole time waiting for them and said "you killed all my boys" and shot Jim at his stomach. but hannah drove the car back to the mansion and the infected got on the back of the car and grabbed West. She went back to pick up Jim and Selena while the infected was killing West but the 3 ended up in a car crash.

They were in the hospital trying to help Jim. he woke up and saw Selena sewing. But there was a plane flying by and you also see 2 infected that died from starvation, so the infected must've died. Jim, Hannah, and Selena had a bunch of blankets and wrote "hello" and the plane saw it.
Most people thought the infected were still alive and made them think this movie sucked. But I can't wait for 28 weeks later next year.
