Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English Director Lech Kowalski profiles late Ramones bassist Dee Dee in this moving, and often chaotic, portrait of his life. Drawing on a potent mixture of vintage footage and recent tributes, Kowalski paints a picture of an exuberant, friendly, yet hopelessly drug-addled individual, who was widely loved within the music community. Among the fascinating footage are clips of Dee Dee and Johnny Thunders hanging out, stories about scoring drugs, getting tattoos, women, and of course tales from his lengthy history with The Ramones. An essential release for any punk rock connoisseur, this moving testimony to one of the New York scene's most charismatic figures is a touching story that will have you laughing, crying, and screaming in equal measures. Hey Is Dee Dee Home film
$9.69 The 1984 debut album from goth metal mongers Christian Death can, in retrospect, be seen as something of a landmark release. A trendsetting disc in its merging of a creepy gothic sensibility and heavy metal, not to mention its stridently controversial (yet subtly tongue-in-cheek) assaults on the Christian religion and conventional morality, ONLY ...
| | Ramones: Raw DVD (2004) Full Frame; Special Edition
Hey Is Dee Dee Home review
$11.35 The Ramones were responsible to a large degree for the revolution that was punk rock, developing a style of short, fast, guitar-driven songs with catchy, poppy lyrics that paved the way for generations of rock bands to come. They stuck by this winning formula over the course of two decades, and RAMONES RAW provides a behind the scenes vantage point from which to view the span of their long career. Comprised of vintage concert and backstage footage, rare TV appearances, and a treasure trove of home movies that have never been seen before, this collection of rare material delves into a side of The Ramones of which audiences are rarely afforded a glimpse. 21 rare live performances include "I Wanna Be Sedated," "Blitzkreig Bop," and "I Can't Make it on Time." The song list includes "Teenage Lobotomy," "Rockaway Beach," "Sheena is a Punk Rocker," "She's the One," "Rock and Roll Radio," "Judy is a Punk," and so much more. This is a unique view of the godfathers of rock and roll that no fan will want to miss!

| | End Of The Century: The Story Of The Ramones DVD (2004)
Hey Is Dee Dee Home DVD
$11.89 Starting with the band's origins in Forest Hills, Queens, END OF THE CENTURY: THE STORY OF THE RAMONES gives a fascinating background portrait of the eccentric group of individuals who came together to be one of the most influential punk bands in history. This documentary about the New York City renegades who made their mark in the mid-1970s with counterculture lyrics and underground performances at rundown joints like CBGB on the Bowery, shows how the band eventually earned recognition, even being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. But it is the insider look at the blue collar upbringing of the band members, and their desire to be part of Manhattan's burgeoning hard-rock scene, that is most endearing about this particular film. In candid interviews with Dee Dee Ramone, he tells stories about the group's total lack of complexity in its earliest days. Going to see contemporary acts like the New York Dolls and Iggy and the Stooges, the Ramones quickly created their own sound and practiced frenetically. When they finally made their debut with an extremely loud sound, furiously fast and short songs, and lots of drama such as blatant on-stage arguments, they practically scared away their fans. While other stars, like Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, comment on the Ramones' subsequent rise to punk stardom, providing wild stories about sex, drugs, chaos, and tragedy, it is the truly interesting ...

Hey Is Dee Dee Home video
$32.69 Television executives plugged into viewers' deepest fears with the debut of TALES FROM THE CRYPT in 1989. Its original source material was the EC comic-book; the series originated on HBO and would go on to run for seven seasons. Hosted by the skeletal Crypt Keeper himself, each episode of the show offered a new, ghoulish tale to inspire nightmares in its audience. The show was such a success that a myriad of CRYPT-inspired spin-offs resulted, including an animated series, several feature films, and seemingly infinite merchandising opportunities. A popular favorite among horror film fans, TALES FROM THE CRYPT also appeals to anyone who loves the strange and visceral thrill of being scared. The show's entire third season is included here.
Yes, that die-abolical punster and bone-a-fide ghoul of your dreams the Crypt Keeper is back to host ...
| | Darkthrone Cult Is Alive CD (2006) (Import) England; Limited Edition; Enhanced CD
Hey Is Dee Dee Home film
$23.29 At a time when most of the first wave of Norwegian black metal bands are long gone, Darkthrone has become the senior figures of this particular subgenre almost by default; they're like the Rolling Stones of death metal. And much like the Rolling Stones around the time of Some Girls and Emotional Rescue, Darkthrone now seems to be caught between staying true to their original sound and adapting to the commercial marketplace. The album's first single, "Too Old, Too Cold" is easily the most immediately accessible song the band has ever done, sounding more like American hardcore punks the Misfits than anyone else, and elsewhere "Graveyard Slut" and "Whiskey Funeral" add to the album's punky feel. Longtime fans might grouse about the somewhat diluted sound of the album, but the shift in emphasis is both subtle and effective. Rather than simply going through the black metal motions, The Cult Is Alive is one of Darkthrone's most satisfying recent albums. ~ Stewart Mason
