Closed Captioned; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Behind The Scenes Boris Pasternak's epic tale of star-crossed love during the Russian Revolution is remade for the television screen in this British miniseries, the first film adaptation of DOCTOR ZHIVAGO since David Lean's legendary 1965 feature. This version casts Hans Matheson (THE MISTS OF AVALON) as the title character, a doctor and poet torn between the love of his faithful wife Tonya (Alexandra Maria Lara) and the passion of his muse and mistress Lara (Keira Knightley, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM), herself the wife of a political revolutionary. Their love affair plays out against the wars and upheavals of czarist Russia until they--and the nation--are finally and irreparably altered by the advent of the Russian Revolution. This retelling of the literary classic is scripted by celebrated screenwriter Andrew Davies (BRIDGET JONES' DIARY) and features Sam Neill in a chilling performance as Lara's villainous tormentor Komarovsky.

AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance by Harrison Ford, who would figure heavily in the director's next movie, the sci-fi epic STAR WARS. The film follows one night in the lives of several ...

Doctor Zhivago video
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic ...

Doctor Zhivago review
$7.79 Tim Robbins stars in his directorial debut as right-wing folksinger Bob Roberts in this satirical mock documentary. Roberts is joined on the Pennsylvania senatorial campaign trail by a British documentary filmmaker who offers insight into Roberts, his staff, and his supporters. Roberts is the anti-Bob Dylan, wowing his supporters with tunes such as "Times Are Changin' Back" and "Wall Street Rap" (which includes a video send-up of Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues"). With his clean-cut good looks and squeaky-clean image, Roberts appears as American as apple pie. Yet, like most politicians, he harbors some nasty secrets, including potential involvement ...

$7.09 Karen Moncrieff follows up her well-received debut feature, BLUE CAR, with THE DEAD GIRL, an impressive, haunting ensemble drama. When a young girl is found murdered, the lives of several different individuals are impacted. Some of these connections are peripheral, while many others are painfully direct. The film is broken up into five distinct chapters, each with its own title. In "The Stranger," Arden (Toni Collette) finds the body, much to her abusive mother's (Piper Laurie) dismay. "The Sister" follows a graduate student (Rose Byrne) who is still mourning the disappearance of her sister along with her mother (Mary Steenburgen). Mary Beth Hurt stars in "The Wife" as a frustrated housewife who discovers that her husband (Nick Searcy) has ...
