| awesome set from a true poet the 15 albums here range from the truly outstanding to the merely great. they are presented in the best possible sound format as 5.1 sacd and/or fantastic stereo. a famous critic once remarked that no one is as compelling as dylan;here's the proof. this boxset would be as welcome a find on a desert island as a box of cuban cigars or a case of rum. | All hail SACD! What a remarkable addition to any collector of 60's-70's music! This collection is almost, but not quite, nirvana in a musical form. There are two reasons why this didn't get 5 stars: 1. Why neglect Bob's first album? 2. If you're going to remaster in SACD, don't settle for stereo, go all the way with surround. I'm holding my breath waiting for the next SACD collection.... including Bob's first. By Steven.Miller3 (Bowling Green, OH, USA) |
| Dylan set great! Very comprehensive library of Dylan albums. Remastering much better than the originals. Sound quality fantastic in SACD, very good in CD. Highly recommended to any Dylan fan. Well worth the money. By a reviewer (New York, NY, USA) |
| At long last The release of these titles in SACD was the main reason I converted early to the new format, and I'm glad I did. The remastering is a great improvement on the CD reissues, more so on some titles than others. Listening to these titles on SACD made me realise that I had actually forgotten what acoustic guitars sounded like. The stand outs for me are Bringing it All Back Home and Slow Train Coming, though all these titles are an absolute must for Dylan fans everywhere. By James.Ward (Canberra, Australia) |
| Worth the price of admission This shows Dylan coming into the limelight. The sound is excellent and shows raw detail in Dylan's voice and playing. Although this album has a high rate of covers, his playing and his own twist on these tracks is well done. If you love Dylan you'll love this album. By Malcolm (Brisbane, Australia) This review is for a different format. |
