Contains the track "Papa Don't Preach" directly following the track "More Than Life Itself."
Partially recorded at The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California.
Considering that Kelly Osbourne is the daughter of Ozzy (media icon, creator of heavy metal, "prince of darkness," and noted Epicurean with a taste for flying mammals), one might naturally assume that the teen's debut album is populated by the same sort of Satanic chug-chugging that made the old man famous. Barring that, one might guess that Kelly would go for an update more appropriate for a girl her age, say in the vein of Kittie. That's why it's a bit of a shock that what comes blaring out the speakers when SHUT UP hits the player is an immensely refreshing slab of straight up Stiff Records '81-style punk pop. Sounding like a ticked-off Go Go's, or the Jam if Paul Weller had preferred chasing skirts to debating the merits of socialism, Kelly Osborne mixes trashy guitar with some of most endearingly honest angry breakup lyrics since the heyday of Lesley Gore. In a bizarre teen-pop music landscape populated by overly sexualized Barbie dolls like Christina Aguilera and wiser-than-their-years phenoms like Avril Lavigne, perhaps it's only natural that the most genuine mouthpiece for the average suburban 2002 teenager is a filthy rich rock star's kid. In short, Kelly rocks!

Kelly Osbourne Changes Songs Changes Music Review Average Rating: (2.8 out of 5 stars) Pathetic I honestly dont know what or who told Kelly she could sing, She is horrible, she has no talent, no fashion sense and a horrible attitude. Im sure there are some of you out there that think its a nice first effort but let's be honest here, can she really sing? does she really have a singing voice? The answer is a resounding HELL NO! She's pathetic, I've heard howling dogs that sing better than she does. The world would be a much better place if she would just "Shut Up!" Submitted by Mark (Knoxville, TN) Was This Review Helpful? Kelly is carrying on her father's legacy Kelly has inherited her father's musical talents and shows them in this re-make of "Shut Up." Along with the song "Changes", it shows that will make her father proud. Great album. Submitted by tyfurlong (Alaska) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
it runs (sort of) in the family I'll admit, Kelly has an okay singing voice, even if she has no range and is often off key. However, she does have emotion in her singing. Most of her music is mediocre bouncy punk. "Changes" is an interesting song to add. The original Black Sabbath song was very cool and lonesome. It was just a piano and Ozzy singing in a bluesy style. Normally, I loathe when good songs are remade, and even though the lyrics were changed a little, it held up as showing that Kelly could actually sing instead of just belch out words. But I'm sure the real reason this album was re-released is because it did so crappy when it first came out and the record label is trying to make some money off of it. And everybody knows that Kelly is only able to release music because of who her father is anyway. Submitted by Stephen (Austin, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Most of it's the same as the first album (Shut Up) The album in general is ok, but most of it is the same songs as the first album, there's 3 or 4 songs that are live versions of the songs on her first album and then one fabulous track called 'changes', which is a duet of Ozzy and Kelly. The case is unusual which makes it better, ya know makes up for the fact that it's got the same songs. Submitted by a reviewer (Norfolk, England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Gary Mcfarland Sketch For Summer CD (2008)
Changes album
$13.85 Not just classmates at Berklee School of Music, Gary McFarland and Gabor Szabo believed in, pursued, and created an intriguing synthesis of jazz and pop that drew upon the best characteristics of each. They brought rock standards into the jazz repertoire with ease (not that it was unheard of before), admired the Beatles and the Rolling Stones far earlier than was cool, and teamed to record several albums' worth of excellent material during the mid-'60s -- for a variety of labels, including Impulse!, Verve, and the Skye label they formed with Cal Tjader. Sketch for Summer on El Records is one of the best compilations ever produced on either of them, skipping lightly over their combined work (both together and separately) of the mid- to late '60s. Sketch for Summer begins with the highlights of Szabo's work of 1965-1967 (originally released ...
