| Necesito Mas Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Excellent A refreshing sound in new salsa. One of those CDs that incite dancing with a contagious rythm. Los Trillisos y Triste Final excellent dancing music Need more like this one. Submitted by rumbon (Brisbane, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Not bad... Not bad for a guy I've never heard of. He is not you typical salsa singer so don't expect to many "soneos". The beats are synthesised but sound good. This is a good dance CD. If you are a hardcore salsero or salsera this album is for you. If you are from the old school you wont like this album. I recommend this album 4 stars. $15.19 Tropical orquestra Jossie Esteban y la Patrulla 15 was formed in May of 1979 by Jossie Esteban (born Esteban GrullĂłn) and Alberto MartĂnez, also known as Ringo. Musicians from Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic participated in Jossie Esteban y la Patrulla 15's debut album, called El Cuchu Cu Cha. In addition, in 1992 Jossie Esteban formed a successful merengue threesome called Zona Roja. Puerto Rican tropical threesome Zona Roja was formed by talented musician Jossie Esteban in the early '90s, making its live debut on April 14, 1992, at San Juan's Roberto Clemente coliseum. A year later, led by Eddie Garcia, Zona Roja started touring the U.S., Central America, and South America. Soon, the band achieved Colombian El Congo de Oro award, being voted Revelation of the Year in the Dominican Republic and getting the Best Latin Video Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. One of the premier merengue acts of the 1990s, Grupo ManĂa rode the top of the charts during the style's mid-'90s heyday, and even though their star power dimmed steadily over the years, they continued recording albums for their core fan base and were regularly nominated for Latin Grammys. Formed in 1993 in Puerto Rico, Grupo ManĂa (aka GrupoManĂa or GrupomanĂa) were originally comprised of three brothers -- HĂ©ctor (aka Banchy), Edwin, and Oscar Serrano -- and Alfred Cotto. Banchy had previously participated in bands led by Willie BerrĂos and Leny PĂ©rez, while Oscar had also been in a band led by PĂ©rez, Grupo Uno. Billing themselves as Grupo ManĂa, the Serrano brothers made their recording debut with A Bombazo...Si! The album sold well in Puerto Rico, thanks to ample radio airplay, and the group's career was off to a solid start. At this point, one of the brothers, Edwin, was replaced by Elvis Crespo, who like Banchy was an alumnus of bands led by BerrĂos and PĂ©rez, and the group proceeded to record ExplotĂł el Bombazo (1994), which went on to sell over 50,000 copies. While that was impressive for an independently released album, Grupo ManĂa's next album, Dance ManĂa (1995), sold twice as much. Moreover, the album featured their biggest hit yet, "Como Me Haces Falta," and for the third year in a row, the group won a Tambora de Oro prize. Consequently, Sony Discos came knocking, and the guys agreed to sign to the label's Sony Tropical subsidiary. Está de Moda (1996), Grupo ManĂa's first album for Sony, exhibited a more marketable style. Evidently the slight makeover paid off, as Está de Moda spun off several hits ("La Condena," "A Que Te Pego Mi ManĂa," "Linda Eh," "Deja Que la Gente Diga"), topped the Tropical/Salsa album chart, and broke into the Top Ten of the Top Latin Albums. Crespo left at this point to pursue a solo career, and Grupo ManĂa recorded Alto Honor (1997) as a trio. The album didn't match the remarkable success of Está de Moda, but it was still mighty popular, spawning several hits ("Me Miras y Te Miro," "Corazoncito," "Que Loco," "MĂrala") and once again reaching the Top Ten of the Top Latin Albums chart. For the follow-up, The Dynasty ...
