Brooklyn South - The Complete Series review
$5.89 Digitally remastered by Bob Norberg & Rob Christie (Capitol Mastering).
The most eclectic of Glen Campbell's late-1960s albums, and his first number one LP, 1968's WICHITA LINEMAN runs from the orchestral melodrama of the title track--the signature song of Glen Campbell's entire career, apart from perhaps "Rhinestone Cowboy"--and the follow-up hit "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife" ...

Brooklyn South - The Complete Series DVD
$25.79 A comprehensive budget compilation by the dependable JSP label, the five-disc 1927-1934 fully covers the first seven years of the Carter Family's musical career and features recordings that are the basis of the trio's honored place in the country music firmament. The set starts, appropriately enough, with the Carters' six contributions to Ralph Peer's legendary 1927 recording sessions in Bristol, Tennessee, and then chronologically wades through every released side that A.P., Sara, and Maybelle recorded ...

| | Britney Spears Blackout CD (2007)
Brooklyn South - The Complete Series video
$10.39 Issued in late 2007, BLACKOUT is the much-touted comeback album that was designed to pull Britney Spears out from under the considerably large personal and professional shadows that had crept into her life. From Spears's bizarre head-shaving incident to her parental custody struggles to her critically reviled MTV Video Music Awards performance, most of the year was an exceedingly long train wreck for the pop superstar, and those events, to some degree, inform BLACKOUT, which stands out as a defiantly bold dance-pop offering.
Buoyed by the massive club-oriented hit "Gimme More," the record sports a slick, nearly armor-like techno veneer that extends to every track, from the pulsing above-mentioned single to the tinny "Toy Soldier" to the R&B-tinged "Why Should I Be Sad." While Spears takes on media criticism most directly on the Vocoder-laced "Piece of Me," she also offers up some giddy escapism, most notably on the floating synth-pop of "Heaven on Earth," a strong contender for BLACKOUT's finest moment. Although the album doesn't erase many of Britney's woes, it ...

Brooklyn South - The Complete Series film
$14.45 Also available on CD in MORE THAN PHYSICAL box on Griffin (373-0) including the 150-page book MORE THAN PHYSICAL: A COLLECTOR'S GUIDE.
MORE THAN PHYSICAL comes in a box consisting of the CD HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW and a 150-page book: OLIVIA--MORE THAN PHYSICAL: A COLLECTOR'S GUIDE. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MELLOW is also available separately on CD on Griffin (373-2).
This early release from singer Olivia Newton-John showcases her country-pop mode, with "Have You Ever Been Mellow," "Goodbye Again," and others showing off her refined vocal grace.
The hit single "Have You Never Been Mellow" carried Olivia Newton-John right back to number one, six months after "I Honestly Love You" brought the singer to that coveted position for the first time. The title track is a masterpiece of songwriting by her producer, John Farrar, an exquisitely pleasant melody with a sunny and peaceful theme. Having covered John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" on the Let Me Be There album in 1973, Newton-John goes back to the Denver catalog twice on this project, including her beautiful rendition of one of his lesser-known gems, "Follow Me," with Farrar's lush country-pop instrumental backing. "The Air That I Breathe" was a hit for the Hollies when Newton-John was filling the airwaves with "I Honestly Love You"; she does a nice interpretation ...
