$19.74 Experience the hard-boiled life of a Los Angeles city cop, and choose to either uphold the law or take it into your own hands. True Crime: Streets of LA puts players in the role of LA cop Nick Kang on missions to take down major crime syndicates.
True Crime recreates a 420 mile area of bustling Los Angeles California cityscape, where players will be able to freely roam, or take on missions that span from trendy Santa Monica to the gritty streets of Hollywood. City activity is similar to Rockstar's popular Grand Theft Auto series, allowing for "police acquisition" of civilian vehicles. True Crime also features deep "bullet-time" shootouts, and martial arts battles.

| | Amerie Because I Love It CD (2007)
Christina Milian
$16.29 A pair of Top Ten albums and Top Ten R&B singles to match. You'd think Amerie's path would be without obstacles going forward, but album number three -- this one -- was left unreleased in the States. In other territories, where it was released, it was left to rot. It's a shame; the album is loaded. The amicable and possibly temporary split between Amerie and her primary producer, Rich Harrison, might've been a cause for some concern, but this set of songs is altogether more colorful and varied than both All I Have and Touch. It's almost excessively generous, provided you are able to keep up and absorb a set of songs that, sequentially, is of exceptionally distinct halves. The all-too-brief intro, the Clutch collaboration "Hate 2 Love U," "Make Me Believe," the Cee-Lo co-production "Take Control," and "Gotta Work" are all restlessly upbeat, dishing out prancing horns (sampled and synthetic), tumbling/crashing drum breaks, zipping organs, and other '60s/'70s soul-funk authenticators. Mighty Dog Haynes, Kool & the Gang, Curtis Mayfield, Bob James, and Tom Zé are all part of that mix. Each one of the songs is an energy rush, and it can be overbearing to be confronted by the boundlessly enthusiastic voices of a woman who is thrilled to be making music and isn't afraid to sound like it. That only accounts for the majority of the album's first half. The first half's other two songs, the Malcolm McLaren-sampling "Some Like It" (a gooey mess, like a candy-shop paella) and "Crush" (a ...

| | His Hideous Heart It's A Weird Time To Be Alive CD (2008)
Christina Milian
$10.15 His Hideous Heart began in Cleveland in 2005 as Mike O’Neill’s solo project. After releasing a short EP of electronic and acoustic influenced songs called the “Remember the Days EP”, His Hideous Heart began to reshape into a full band with a fuller sound. Adding to Mike’s guitar and songwriting, Brian Bohan joined on bass, Ben Austin on cello, Jeff Mather on Drums, Bridget Davis with vocals and percussion and Mustafa Ascha on a second guitar. His Hideous Heart performed for the first time in December 2006, playing songs from the Remember the Days EP. While playing these songs however, the band began noticing a vast change in the natural style and dynamics. After several shows and the beginning of a new era of song writing, Aaron Popelka replaced Mustafa as the second guitar player / multi instrumentalist. His Hideous Heart doesn’t strive for any sound in particular, but rather just plays whatever feels comfortable and nice. With influences between pop, post-rock, classical, and hardcore, the songs all have a similar feeling of melody and movement. They have a growing presence in the local Cleveland Music scene, opening for such acts as Kevin Devine, Jennifer O’Connor, The Minus Story, Old Canes, Band of Horses and Modest Mouse, as well as other Cleveland locals Bears and the Dreadful Yawns.“It’s A Weird Time To Be Alive” was released on New Years Day of 2008 and features the songs written since the conception of His Hideous Heart. The ...

$11.39 Kenneth P. McDonald A Washington D.C. native, also grew up with a love for music. Drums were his first instrument and the trumpet was soon to follow. Music was definitely a main stay in his childhood home. With an older brother who at the time was considered one of DC's finest musicians, sometimes you get inspired!
