One of the most popular touring and recording acts in rock history, Chicago has been around the world a dozen times, but few concerts compare with a special 2002 show they performed in New York City. The band took the stage without a preplanned set list, instead allowing listeners across the United States to call in or email requests. Celebrating 35 years of making music, Chicago performed 14 fan favorites in their Live By Request concert special for the A&E network. What a crushing disappointment. Chicago was one of the genuine, great rock bands of all time, but with all of the personnel changes, there is no way that this is Chicago.
Those original members that are still part of the lineup, should have called it quits a few years ago while they were still capable. Founding member Lamb, for instance, is only just short of pathetic with a voice that can no longer 'cut the mustard'
A very sad effort.

This DVD is awesome! I played drums in a horn band back in the 70's and our favourite band was Chicago. I saw them twice in Montreal, Quebec back then and their performance live is many times greater than just listening to their albums. I would love to find out if there is any footage available (VHS or DVD) of the original band with Terry on guitar, Peter on bass and Danny on drums. These guys are the greatest ever!!! Does anyone out there know of any original footage. Please email me. Fantastic group!

Chicago, Stronger every day !
Despite the personel changes over the years, this group still rock! I have followed their musical talents since the late sixties,and have many of their albums. The A&E LIVE BY REQUEST just showed fans like me that Chicago is still worth the price of admission !
Keep performing CHICAGO,You seem to GET STRONGER EVERY DAY!

The 2003 edition of Chicago's Christmas album (now subtitled WHAT'S IT GONNA BE SANTA?) includes the entirety of the band's 1998 Christmas release CHICAGO 25: CHRISTMAS, and adds no less than six newly recorded tracks. Produced by the legendary Phil Ramone (the original sessions featured E Street band keyboardist Roy Bittan at the helm), the new tracks feature more of the group's unique interpretations of holiday chestnuts.
