Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles Cannibal transvestite Leatherface wreaks havoc once more in this third, postmodern-edged sequel, penned by director Kim Henkel (who co-scripted the original cult classic). Here, his quarry are plucky small-town teens begarbed for their high school prom. Notable for its early work from Texas natives Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey, who went on to Hollywood fame--and, according to rumor, tried to have this effort vaulted. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation Reviews: "...Clever humor built through snappy dialogue..."
-- Karen Achenbach, Box Office "...Genuinely scary and sharply satirical all at once....Zellweger makes Jenny the most formidable scream queen since Jamie Lee Curtis..."
-- Joe Leydon, Variety "...The oddball whimsy demonstrated in NEXT GENERATION is vaguely reminiscent of Sam Raimi's kooky EVIL DEAD series..."
-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation Movie Review Average Rating: (1.4 out of 5 stars) Good, but not great! I was very sceptical of this movie. I read nothing but terrible things about this movie. Well,I thought it was pretty good. It is not as good as other Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, but is a good horror movie. A lot of frightening stuff. Lots of sick, demented stuff. The things horror freaks like.I am glad I purchased it. Submitted by Mike (Rockford) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Good movie, bad DVD, don't buy it This DVD advertises production notes that aren't there and claims to have the 95 minute version when it's actually the cut 87 minute version. Don't buy this. The Canadian one is uncut but unfortunately only in pan-and-scan Submitted by sean_douglas (Toronto, ON, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Absolutely Terrible! Okay, i enjoyed the first two Texas Chainsaw Massacre films, the third wasn't that good but this is an absolute disgrace, the characters must have s*it for brains, Renee Zellweger does her worst performence and so do most of the actors, the only one who could act was Mathew Mchounhey (don't know to spell his last name), he gave a very good performance, aside from that this movie is so bad, avoid this like the plague. It is BAAAAAD! Submitted by burninhell95 (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A DISGRACE! I am so pissed right now, even though it's a movie it is the 2nd most boringest movie ever. It's weird TCM 1 & 2 were the best horror movies ever and this is the worst one. Don't even bother with it, it sucks! Submitted by buzzsaw4 (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!! Man, I am a die hard TCM fan but this one was the WORST! I mean, why did they even bother? There is no plot, and leatherface is now a transvestite?? WHAT? Who the hell was the weird rich guy in this one anyway. This is by far the worst chainsaw massacre, and when I say worst I mean DON'T BOTHER BUYING IT, watching it was tourture enough!! Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation film
$14.79 THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is, without a doubt, the granddaddy of all splatter films. Inspired by 1950s mass murderer Ed Gein, Tobe Hooper's debut feature opens with five unsuspecting teenagers driving in a van through sun-scorched rural Texas. After a terrifying exchange with a demented hitchhiker, the group ends up at an old farmhouse. At first, the house appears to be abandoned, but soon, the evil residents begin to wreak havoc on the youngsters' lives. With her friends and wheelchair-bound brother Franklin (Paul A. Partain) disappearing one by one, the terrified Sally Hardesty (Marilyn Burns) must summon the strength to escape from the ghoulish family of mass murderers, who are led by the gruesome, chainsaw-wielding Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen).
Hooper's low-budget exploitation horror film became a cult hit and favorite midnight ...
