The 2003 edition of Chicago's Christmas album (now subtitled WHAT'S IT GONNA BE SANTA?) includes the entirety of the band's 1998 Christmas release CHICAGO 25: CHRISTMAS, and adds no less than six newly recorded tracks. Produced by the legendary Phil Ramone (the original sessions featured E Street band keyboardist Roy Bittan at the helm), the new tracks feature more of the group's unique interpretations of holiday chestnuts.
Rather than tired re-treads of the same old songs, the versions on this album generally benefit from radically reconfigured arrangements that often make the songs unrecognizable until the lyrics come in. This approach works splendidly, breathing new life and excitement into the well-worn genre of December-themed tunes. Throughout, Chicago seamlessly weaves a Yuletide tapestry of its trademark horns, vocal harmonies, and jazzy chord changes, which allows this album to rank with the group's best work.
20 Christmas classics wrapped in one irresistible package, remastered and expanded with 6 previously unreleased tracks, 'Winter Wonderland', 'Jolly Old St. Nicholas', 'This Christmas', 'Bethlehem', 'Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer' & 'Sleigh Ride'. Slipcase. Rhino. 2003.

What's It Gonna Be Santa? Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Lyrics to Bethlehem I found this on Bill Champlin's website:
(Verse 1)
With this frankincense and this gold and myrrh
We are traveling so far
For a vision of one child born of love
We are following this star
(Verse 2)
So, the three of us travel ‘round the world
We are riding toward one dream
In the darkest night we see heaven’s light
Shining on the new born king
What’s that star that’s shining, oh so bright
What’s this road that we must follow
Why this little town, these three men, so wise
Who’s this child that we must follow
Here to Bethlehem
(Verse 3)
There’s a song to sing, and a tale to tell
And a world to rise above
So, we’re traveling here to Israel
Just to find this child of love
(Verse 4, not on the CD)
We’ve all seen the light and our path is clear
Love is just around the bend
There’s an end in sight it begins right here
There’ll be peace in Bethlehem
(alternate chorus answers)
(Jason)
What’s that star, oh so bright?
Road that we must follow?
Why this town – men, so wise
God’s own child, follow
(Bill)
Try to remember,
Where this started
Follow your heart
It’s more than December
It’s God’s own child
