Sure, other rap artists came before them, but Run-D.M.C. were rap's first superstars -- one of the first rap acts to not suffer from the "one-hit wonder syndrome." As a result, numerous compilations of the group have been issued over the years, but none are as comprehensive as the 2003 double-disc Ultimate Run DMC, which packs one disc of hits and one DVD of their most popular videos. Just about every single Run-D.M.C. favorite you can think of is included here, including early classics of rock-based rap ("Rock Box," "King of Rock") and hits that made the group a worldwide sensation ("Walk This Way," "It's Tricky," "My Adidas"), as well as a few latter-day favorites ("Down With the King," the Jason Nevins version of "It's Like That"). If you're looking for a Run-D.M.C. collection that compiles all the hits neatly on a single disc, with an extra added bonus, then Ultimate is a must-have. This collection has almost all of the best of RUN-DMC. Great selection of songs, however, it's missing "Christmas in Hollis". Even though it provides the video of the song, its just not the same. Great purchase for RUN-DMC lovers!

 Hail to the Kings of Rock, Rap & and of Rhyme
Will these songs ever get old? The answer is a decisive NO! Ultimate Run DMC is a collection of songs that not only stirs a "back-in-day" flashback moment but is a fitting tribute to a group who truly put rap music on the map. These songs are their legacy. No other MC's at the time and even today could ever duplicate them. From Rock Box & JMJ off their debut to Down With the King in 1993, these songs have it all...phat rhymes, dope beats and MC's that demand and gladly recieve our attention even 20 years later. Of course no Run-DMC collection is complete without songs off the Raising Hell album. That was The Chronic album for rap's 1st generation. This CD features 6 of its songs, including Peter Piper, My Adidas and Hit it Run (an often forgotten song but my favorite none the less!), and the ground-breaking Walk This Way. The DVD included is an added bonus paying tribute to the Run-DMC and of course their DJ, Jam Master Jay, who was recently taken from us in 10/02. This is my 3rd collection of theirs and by far the best. This was hip-hop at it's finest. When rappers spoke of "beat-downs" instead of "AK's", shoes rather than "bling-bling", and spread a love of the music itself and made you want to be a part of it. Run-Dmc is undoubtedly the greatest rap group of all time, not based on their record sales or on awards, but for their contribution to not just rap but music history in general. This is truly Ultimate Run-DMC.

Cop It!
Ata time when hip hop is at its peak in terms of popularity, releasing yet another compilation album is probably the way to go.
For thsoe who are unfamilar with Run-DMC, u will not be disappointed as this record comprises their best works over the last 20 years.
A must buy for those who do not have an extensive Run DMC collection at home

Welsh traditionalists Bullet For My Valentine clearly get off on the classics. While they're sometimes lumped in with metalcore acts, they're much closer to old-school American thrashers from the '80s such as Metallica and Megadeth, and harsher '90s acts in the vein of Pantera. SCREAM AIM FIRE represents a significant forward for the band, with twisting dual leads charging ahead of the galloping rhythms and dynamic song structures.
It's not all head-forward aggression, however, as "Hearts Burst Into Fire" flirts with emo and "Say Goodnight" glosses the classic power ballad with a fresh coat of paint. Despite that, the lasting impression they leave is the acrid scent of scorched eardrums courtesy of adrenalized tracks like the warp-speed "Last to Know" and "Ashes of the Innocent." With metal splintering into so many camps, it's good to hear an act just interested in playing it the way they remember it, only faster and harder.
