Jai Uttal is a Grammy-nominated musician whose eclectic fusion of eastern music with western sensibilities has made him a star in the world music scene. On MUSIC FOR YOGA AND OTHER JOYS, Uttal, with the assistance of multi-instrumentalist Ben Leinbach, has recorded his first album of music created especially for yoga practice. Clocking in at 75 minutes, the music takes the listener from the calming opening chant on "Govinda" to the steady, upbeat "Nataraja," and culminates in the soothing "Surya." The entire recording is a sensual, passionate experience that is perfect for the spiritual aspects of yoga. Uttal's warm, resonant voice is a soaring gift that connects directly to the heart of the listener. His joy and devotion are readily apparent and shine through the rich, complex blend of contemporary Western and authentic Indian instruments. The dotar, slide tambora, and bansuri are only a few of the instruments on which Leinbach performs expertly. While this recording maybe intended for yoga, it is really ideal for any calm, relaxing activity.

Music For Yoga & Other Joys music CDs
$9.09 Recorded between February 4, 1976 & April 25, 1977. Includes liner notes by Colin Escott.
Elvis' last studio album is, in fact, a hodgepodge of recordings from several 1976 studio sessions and four concert tracks. Also included among the live songs are the Olivia Newton John hit, "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)," a pretty silly take on the Gladiolas' "Little Darlin'," and one of Elvis' favorite songs, "Unchained Melody."
Studio tracks include covers of Jim Reeves' country hit "He'll Have to Go," the George Jones hit "She Thinks I Still Care," and two singles that reached the pop Top 40, "Way Down" and the title track. The abundance of country songs on MOODY BLUE reflects the shift in Presley's audience, as does the chart performance of both singles (each reached the number one position on Billboard's country chart). Presley's vocals for the studio tracks were recorded in his den at Graceland.
The last Elvis Presley album released in the singer's lifetime, Moody Blue has a somewhat checkered history, especially among fans. Issued two months before Presley died, the album sold moderately well until Presley died -- then it soared up the charts to number three, as his most current album, and it ...

Music For Yoga & Other Joys music CDs
$7.99 Who is studio62? A complex blend of composer Michael Carroll (renowned in the NYC admusic scene) and whomever wants to chime in - singers, players - they morph at will. For example Summer has two versions on the upcoming full length CD: an instrumental - very nice - and a vocal featuring singing sensation Kwaku Aning. Actually Kwaku is a hard core rocker but he has a pop side that we explore with this act. All come and go as needed but Mikie holds the whole thing together. Michael's spent most of his pro life in advertising and as such has many scars on the frontal lobe. His influences are the Fab Four and many other 60's bands mixed with the likes of Depeche Mode and minimalist dance music (Frank Bretschneider and Rob Rives for instance.) He learned about life like we all did: self-torture and painful dating memories. Studio62's least favorite animal is the Nutria, a large rat-like aquatic rodent with South American origins. Studio62 is so named 'cause it's more than studio61 - no, really it's the number of floors on the Empire State Building here in NYC that we can see from our officesOur studio62 mission? We call it Pop Lounge or Lounge Eclectic (the genre thing is tough for us all). It's music that's suave but also explores melody and compostion. There's a musical subtext that runs throughout all four pieces. Think of the four songs as one song with four sections. "Sexy" (the tune), once the drums have established, starts with an opening line from the guitar. It's joined later by a longer contrapuntal line in the dudek and finally ...
