An irreverent and refreshing take on the queer world of sex, lust and unrequited love. Lanky, blue haired Jackson, record store employee and poet, is in love with most of the men in his life! There’s Billy, who he met at an orgy, Jed, his cousin, Derek, a customer at the shop, and Sam, his boss and best friend! A refreshing departure from the typical gay love story, LUSTER is a raw and darkly comic look at young punks in love. Limited Theatrical release. A series of adventures, including lots of cute boys and potential mates, make up the wild life of punky, blue-haired Jackson (Justin Herwick). A poet and magazine producer, and record store employee, Jackson drifts through a world of flirtation, romance, and an occasional orgy, where he falls in love with most of the men whom he comes in contact with--including his cousin and his best friend! Everett Lewis' racy comedy presents a look at the punky side of gay life not often captured on film.

Luster Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) wonderful movie I recently ordered "Ken Park" from CD-Universe and was very disappointed by the censored movie. But this time "Luster" was really a pleasure to look at. Good story, sympatique personel (both: as "actors" and as "persons in the play").
The story seems so real, the peoble seem
so true in their play, so far away from
"playing".
One the best gay-movies I have seen so far! Submitted by p.haberer (Heidelberg, Germany) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hilarious This is a funny movie that kept me laughing, despite the tragedy. It contained decent dialogue and acting of various calibers as it portrayed the emptiness of the gay lifestyle. Submitted by Tintin84105 (Woods Cross, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
unsuprisingly good I love the whole atmosphere of this film, casually real, undespressingly sad, which finally leads to a bittersweet tragedy end.
I mean, if u have the same experience as Jackson do(who lusts for love, but never truly gets it), you will more easily get urself involved in it.
Besides, the music is good. those L.W.G things, hehe! Submitted by donnil_darko (Shanghai, CHINA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$7.09 After he's outed at his Midwestern precinct, gay cop John (Jonathan Wade Drahos) heads to Los Angeles to stay with his cousin Tad (Daniel Kucan), a documentary filmmaker chronicling the local gay scene. Naïve and closeted for a little too long, John only needs one little sniff and he's totally sucked into the world of "circuit" parties, drug-fueled gay raves full of steamy sex, thumping disco, steroid-amped bodies, and soap opera-style interpersonal drama. Soon his life is spiraling out of control and it's time to learn some valuable lessons.
Ex-Playgirl centerfold Dirk Shafer directs CIRCUIT from a script he wrote with producer Gregory Hinton. There's lots of drug use, vanity, angst, groping, and softcore sex (bed sheets and shadows mask total full frontal nudity). Kiersten Warren adds some estrogen and humor as John's college pal who has also come to L.A. to pursue her career as a stand-up comic. Jim J. Bullock (TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT) appears as a drag queen, William Katz and Nancy Allen are married party promoters caught up in a scam involving AIDS and life insurance. Many of the scenes were filmed at actual circuit parties (including the notorious "White Party"), with the ...
