"Man looks at the outside, God looks at the heart, and he wants you to come as you are." With that chorus as an all-embracing message, the legendary Williams Brothers step upon a stage in their home state of Mississippi and open their 2003 live record, STILL HERE. It's a sentiment which exemplifies the trio of Melvin and Doug Williams and their cousin Henry Green, who were originally gathered together as children in the late 1950s by the brothers' father, Leonard "Pops" Williams.
Their sweet, comforting, soulful sound was patterned after the Dixie Hummingbirds, and five decades later, it still harbors echoes of that revered group. However, the Williams Brothers' smooth groove on STILL HERE is timeless. When the threesome beckons the faithful on classics "Walk with Me" and "I Don't Know Why," the warmth is palpable and unquestionable. The trio has been trading vocals for so long, the interplay and harmony is completely natural. Doug Williams's original tunes, including the title track and the elated "Heaven Is Waiting," abound with a spirit of joy and grace. STILL HERE showcases gospel legends still at the top of their game.

From its subtle opening inviting the unsaved to come to Jesus to the powerful testimony on the last track, this project is sure to draw you closer to God and maybe even cause you to evaluate where you are in your walk with him. It’s is such an encouragement to me because of some of the things that are currently going on in my workplace. Sometimes I don’t know why God is so good to me (those little unholy thoughts when people do you wrong), but I am glad God is a forgiving God and that he continues to walk with me. Each of us has a purpose and we can only discover it by asking God for direction. My favorite track in this first half has to be Still Here. This message is my testimony and I do love that jazzy melody.
About midway through the CD, the Brothers pump up the volume. Most of us want to go to heaven but we gotta do some things to help us get there. We have to be for him wholeheartedly – ain’t no in the middle! (That song is off the chain). As the project flows toward a smooth ending, things slow down a bit after we’ve been hit with the whole truth. The awesome element to this whole walk with Jesus is that he definitely is all we need, and for that reason The Brothers remind us that this is the reason why we worship him. And true worship brings along with it a testimony to tell somebody about the change that has taken place in your life. My boyz from down home – I am so proud of them!

THIS CD WAS VERY INSPIRING AND TOUCHING TO THE HEART. THIS CD WILL TOUCH ANYBODY LIFE THAT MAY BE GOING THROUGH SOME HARD TIMES..THIS CD WILL GIVE THEM ENCOURAGEMENT AND I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY THIS CD AND JUST LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF EACH SONG AND THEY WILL FIND COMFORT.
