One of the best - rarely known
Helen Forrest is not well known since she was a singer from the 1940's but even Frank Sinatra admits she is one of the best female vocalists. It is a treat to go back in time and hear her sing.

Unforgetable Voice
Loved this lady in 1940's-50's-60's-70's. Her recent passing is the song world's loss. She sang her love to us all and her songs, melodies, charm live on for us all to enjoy. Truly a 'forever' generational song bird of the highetst order. Big band sonster, soloist, she did it all.......

Songbird of the 1940s
Jasmine Records, Helen Forrest, The Golden Years Of, I Had the Craziest Dream, JASBOX 10-4. This box set compiled and produced by Geoff Milne, well known to UK nostalgia buffs, is a huge collection from one of the most popular of female big band singers and includes both broadcast and studio material dating back to 1938. As a link to the already released The Golden Years of Dick Haymes, Let the Rest of the World Go By on JASBOX 9-4 we are given all 18 Decca duets which Helen and Dick recorded together and one broadcast track ‘People Will Say We’re in Love’. The box is worth its price for these recordings alone but as we know Helen had a great career singing with Artie Shaw, Harry James and Benny Goodman as well as many solo hits. The sound quality is bright and clear and this is an outstanding set of 97 vocals! The liner notes in booklet form are informative and are illustrated with 2 lovely colour pictures of Helen. The 4 CDs make up 5 hours of listening pleasure and should be a must for collectors.
