(84 Customer Reviews)
TROUBLE opens with "Locked Up," a smooth, rap-infused dirge perfectly suited for Akon's winsome, high-pitched vocals, which retain just a pinch of an African accent. He continues with the somber theme of redemption on the melodic "Trouble Nobody." Akon reveals a markedly different side of himself on the first single, the dance-floor tribute to beautiful women, "Bananza (Belly Dancer)." However, most of TROUBLE wanders in the sadness of living amongst urban decay, focusing on the trouble Akon has seen, and he's seen a lot.
Young R&B singer Akon's life has been filled with struggle and fortune, and both scenarios are channeled into his debut record, fittingly entitled TROUBLE. Akon was born in Senegal, son of a well-known African jazz percussionist, but moved to New Jersey when just seven years old. Once in the States, Akon was in and out of jail, until he decided to forego that existence and embrace music. Akon's style derives from many influences, including hip-hop and his African heritage, but TROUBLE could be described as the grittier side of neo-soul, with a sound similar to Anthony Hamilton.
Personnel: Akon; Daddy T, Styles P, Picklehead & Devyne.

| | Kanye West College Dropout CD (2004)
Trouble songs
$10.39 For most artists who are discovered behind the mixing boards, making the transfer from producer to MC proves a daunting task. Fortunately for Kanye West, his verbal skills more than rise to the challenge of his consistently superior beats. A sprawling concept record that tackles issues of everyday life with wisecracking humor and unexpected honesty, THE COLLEGE DROPOUT confirms West's status as one of hip-hop's most refreshing voices.
The leadoff single, "Through the Wire," perfectly exemplifies West's distinct vision. Recorded while his jaws were still wired shut after a near-fatal car accident, West hilariously reflects upon his predicament over a sped-up Chaka Khan sample. Other songs address potentially somber topics--ghetto life ("We Don't Care"), religion ("Jesus Walks"), and family turmoil ("Family Business")--yet somehow retain a truly hopeful spirit. ...
| | 50 Cent Massacre CD (2005)
Trouble album
$10.39 If 50 Cent is calm in his delivery, it's more than matched by the ease of the lyrical couplets he unfolds. He could beat most challengers to a freestyle battle in his sleep, and raps as if he's known this from birth, a truth he expounds on in "This Is 50," as he effortlessly whips a rival. When partner-in-platinum-sales Eminem, drops by on "Gatman and Robbin," 50 Cent shows he can bring the energy, but, for the most part, the rapper stays in his wonderfully jaded comfort zone. He smoothly packs the dance floor on the single "Disco Inferno," before unwinding the most laid-back of seductions on "Just a Lil Bit." If anyone thought 50 Cent might have burned out in his flurry of prosperity, THE MASSACRE, a strong sophomore effort, should set the record straight.
After years of hustling for his music and his life, and taking bullet after bullet, 50 Cent finally found massive success ...

Trouble CD music
$9.35 The Flipmasters consist of three primary members:Lil BitC-Lo SaineD.A.C.All members met in high school after Lil Bit moved from Atlanta to Birmingham, then finally to Thomasville, Alabama. Lil Bit's father comes from a family of musicians and had been encouraging her to be innovative with her hip hop abilities. After a few months at Thomasville High School, she hooked up with C-Lo Saine. The two met while preparing for a talent show. From there, they began to work together in the Spring of 2003. In just a few months, they released "ALABAMA" to local radio stations and created a big buzz between Alabama and Mississippi. From there, the duo cut an EP of six songs to keep their presence strong while they planned a full album project. To begin their album project, they knew they needed more people to work with; so D.A.C., a friend of C-Lo Saine's was added to form a trio. With their popularity they were able to find some of the brightest talent in the area to perform as guests on the album. In the Spring of 2004, they were ready to cut their debut CD, "The First." The album features all 'homemade beats,' and all original music. There are no samples and no sound-a-likes. Their music is largely due to Lil Bit's musical talents and her friend Jacobi Thompson. The cd was release in mid June 2004. Locally, sales of the cd were considered unheard. The group moved over 400 units in one week-- all within 50 miles of their hometown. This is surely something to brag about---and the buzz was on fire from there. They have been performing, everywhere from Thomasville to Montgomery to Atlanta, GA, with no plans to stop. As a matter of fact, the group is gearing for an agressive high school tour this fall, which will bring to some of the biggest high schools in the southern region. Their debut cd, "The First" is a strong indicator that these guys will be chased by music industry moguls before they finish ...

Alternating every-girl longings with social satire and absurd silliness, The Ticks' live performances can include costumes, special songs, or themes. In the summer of 2001, The Ticks released So Young, So Bad, recorded by Kevin Reilly at Lookinglass Studios in New York. Trouble songs
$22.75 He stands 6-foot-5-inches, natural good looks, with a rare gift. Although his background may be common to many; rout with challenges, insurmountable odds and riddled with inexplicable incidences, he is living an uncommon life. All due to the benefits of his extraordinary gifts, unmitigated competency and tenacious ambition.Terrell Carter has more to his credit than most have within the life of an entire career. After being noticed while singing at church in Detroit, gospel great Fred Hammond auditioned him and seamlessly Carter found himself working with Hammond and later with a host of others. His classic sensibility and non-formulaic approach can be attributed to years of absorbing the irreplaceable soul in the music passed down to him through the gospel music of the church he attended with his mother and grandmother in his native home town on the east side of Buffalo, New York. His drive and confidence were born from his desire to rise above the despair that surrounded him on ...
