Despite major changes in the musical climate by the dawn of the 21st century, veteran metal prog-rockers Queensryche admirably stuck by their guns and never considered jumping on bandwagons. 2001 saw the release of the group's second live album, LIVE EVOLUTION, recorded in their hometown of Seattle, at the Moore Theatre. The concert featured songs from all eras of their career, and the double disc, 29-track album is split into four separate suites accordingly: EP/WARNING, RAGE/MINDCRIME, EMPIRE/PROMISED LAND, and HITNF/Q2K, featuring something for just about every Queensryche fan past and present. Highlights include the early classics "Queen of the Reich" and "Take Hold of the Flame," such mid-career fare as "Eyes of a Stranger," "Empire," and "Jet City Woman," and their lone top-ten hit ballad, "Silent Lucidity." Rounding things out are renditions of more recent compositions such as "Sacred Ground," "The Right Side of my Mind," etc. The breadth of material included creates a well-balanced portrait of this pioneering band's work.

TERANDYNOL TRIOSo called by putting Terry, Andy and Noel together, was originally formed in 1998 as a guitar, bass and drums trio with the drummer doing vocals. Performing at clubs and functions in and around Adelaide,South Australia the music ranges from cool West Coast style lounge jazz to more modern tunes. The trio released its debut CD 'Cool Man'in 2000. (We were originally billed as 'Terandynol - your complete jazz medication' but people wouldn't swallow it.)The Musicians. GUITAR - TERRY OSMOND.Terry is originally from Adelaide and seems to have been playing guitar since Pontius was a Pilot. He's not quite that old but back in the 60s he was co-founder of 'The Vibrants' who had several singles in the charts. From late 60s to early 80s Terry paid his rhythm and blues and soul dues in bands such as 'The Others' (who recorded a collector's item LP) and 'Ottaway Chumple'. Between 1975 and 1980 he also played in Dick Dawson's quartet and in the 80s did some serious jazz study at the Adelaide University. In 1991 he took over the guitar chair in the 'Penny Rockets' and the reformed 'Cravats'. Now with Terandynol and other jazz based combinations he gets to play cool music in his own style.BASS - ANDY MORTIMER.Andy started his bass playing career in Port Augusta, South Australia with local rock bands and moved to Sydney in the mid 70s as a full time player. As a backing musician in club bands for shows with local and international acts he gained great experience. (He tells an interesting story about working with Sammy Davis Jr.) In the 80s he moved to Darwin and played in many groups including the resident jazz combo at the Darwin Casino for about 4 years. Robyn's self-titled record marks the Swedish pop singer's remarkable return to international attention roughly 11 years following her gigantic hit, "Show Me Love." Released in 2005 in Sweden, the exquisitely crafted pop record slowly gained momentum through an unexpected abundance of critical praise and a flurry of singles. By 2007, ROBYN earned distribution around the globe. As with Pink and Kylie Minogue, there is something deeper and darker going on beneath the sheen of dance-pop on the diverse ROBYN. Singles like "With Every Heartbeat" and "Be Mine" channel Kate Bush but with a speedier beat, while the almost surreal "Konichiwa Bitches" finds the singer striking a whispered hip-hop pose. The 2007 release contains the bonus track, the electronic hip-hop of "Cobrastyle."
Although best known in the United States for her 1997 dance hit "Show Me Love," Robyn has maintained a consistent and appealing career in Europe, balancing Kylie Minogue-style dance pop froth with a more assertive and intriguing set of influences. Highlights on ROBYN includes the first single "Who's That Girl?" cowritten and produced by the Swedish indie electronic duo the Knife, and the swirling, near-psychedelic "With Every Heartbeat." Not at all the pliant pop kitten a la Jessica Simpson that one might expect, Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn is more in keeping with Minogue or Madonna as a canny manipulator of her own image with a knack for musical reinvention. The U.S. edition of ROBYN features three tracks not on the original European version.
"I present to you/Unleashed in the East/Best dressed in the West/Sorted in the North/Without a doubt in the South/the queen of queen bees," intones the booming voice on Robyn's opening track, "Curriculum Vitae."
