In this re-release of Aleks Syntek's 2004 opus, the Mexican musician performs a variety of duets with artists including the Colombian singer Soraya and Ana Torroja of the Spanish pop combo Mecano, in a set that mixes the anthemic uptempo pop of "Tiempos De Paz," the beautiful ballad "Te Sone," and a vintage-sounding techno version of "Duele El Amor" that displays his dance club roots. Un buen disco, uno de los mejores! Aleks Syntek es un buen cantante, y tambien tiene muy buenas canciones. Como A veces fui, Duele el amor, y te sone. Es muy bueno este disco, lo recomendio!!! Submitted by cuauh (San Diego, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
¡Compra discos legales!...). Mejor esperemos otro disco de Syntek... Submitted by criticacd (Maracay, Venezuela) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$6.79 After the runaway success of the Allman Brothers' classic Brothers and Sisters LP -- an album on which Dickey Betts virtually architected the open loping country sound with his newly found singing voice and easy, slimmed down guitar style -- the guitarist decided to try his hand at a solo album. Highway Call is, in essence, the second chapter in Betts finding his own voice as not only a singer, but also as a songwriter as well. At a brief half-hour in length, Highway Call is nonetheless an emotionally powerful slice of small country life offered with a vast emotional landscape. The tone is nostalgic in that each of the songs here reflects memory and the yearning for a simpler, less cluttered life lived in the open spaces, away from the chaotic roil of rock stardom and all of its trappings. The title track reflects an acceptance of Betts' life as an itinerant musician, destined to play out his hand on the road. There isn't a hint of regret in the ringing, slippery guitars and harmony vocals, but there is a sense that life could have been different. On "Let Nature Sing," Betts calls forth the spirits of America, from its rock and crags, its lakes and panoramic vistas, and from the ghosts of the people who've traipsed through Betts' life, leaving an emotional and indelible ...

Gothic Beauty Magazine: Dying Breed will give listeners a glimpse of Ghost Parade, who steal the stage with their live act, and christen blasé elders back into the fold when the grooves have grown deep in their Joy Division and Bauhaus collections.Chain D.L.K. Magazine: From the prolific city of Portland, Oregon, Ghost Parade offer us their second album's intense and dense goth-rock/dark-wave music. Nice deep vocals that will make you think of many peculiar singers of the genre supported by piano, acoustic guitars, electric guitars and pounding drums.
