Black & White; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English Howlin' Wolf is a legendary figure in blues music, with an influence that has seeped into the pantheon of rock 'n' roll via influential figures namechecking him, such as Keith Richards. His life story is presented here, tracing his career back to its roots, and following his battle against hardship as he strove to get his music across to a wider audience. Unfortunately this only occurred posthumously, but luckily director Don McGlynn has exhumed a welter of material from the vaults, much of which has never previously been made public. Discover a blues original for yourself with this fascinating, in-depth documentary. Howlin' Wolf Story Reviews: "[The film] teems with amazing footage..."

| | Eric Sardinas Black Pearls CD (2003)
Howlin' Wolf Story review
$10.09 Asian version featuring a bonus track: "Green Tea". Also includes a hidden, untitled track.
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel: Eric Sardinas (vocals, guitar); Paul Loranger (bass); Mike Dupke (drums); Chris Frazier. Recorded at the Mothership, Los Angeles, California. This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel: Eric Sardinas (vocals, guitar); Mike Duple (drums); Keith Johnson (programming). Audio Mixers: Eddie Kramer; Mauricio Cajueiro. Recording information: Mothership, Los Angelas, CA. Photographer: Neil Zlozower. Eric Sardinas is a good, even great, electric slide player, and his Dobro skills are equally as impressive. His band on Black Pearls, Paul Loranger on bass and Mike Dupke on drums, is also quite good. The songs, all written by Sardinas, sound good and rock hard, although you've heard all this said before. (Granted, blues feeds on recycled lyrics, and it is undoubtedly hard to find a new way to say "I've been down so long I'm gonna leave you.") The highlights here -- the cheerful pop-blues of "Big Red Line," the bluegrass-paced Dobro work on "Old Smyrm Road" -- come on songs that step a little bit outside the blues-boogie template. ~ Steve Leggett Eric Sardinas is a good, even great, electric slide player, and his Dobro skills are equally as impressive. His band on Black Pearls, Paul Loranger on bass and Mike Dupke on drums, is also quite good. The problem here is the material. The songs, all written by Sardinas, are at the worst end of blues cliché. They sound good and rock hard, but in the end, you've heard ...

| | Bad Company - Inside Bad Company: 1974-1982 DVD (1974) DTS Sound
Howlin' Wolf Story review
$18.55 Comprised of former members of such bedrock bands as King Crimson, Mott the Hoople, and Free, Bad Company was fated to succeed from the start. Mick Ralph's blue-based guitar work and singer Paul Rodgers's resonant voice, combined with the band's simple, straightforward hard rock, made them one of the best heavy bands of the '70s. This critical review examines the classic era of the band's output, from the release of their eponymous debut album on Led Zeppelin's label in 1974, to 1982's ROUGH DIAMONDS. Considering the band on stage and on film in addition to its recorded material, the team of experts includes ...
